Just leave it alone and go one to something that is a little more 'freer." I don't see anything wrong with him being your friend. Just don't let him get lonely and carry it any farther. He's apparently been honest enought to let you know he has this other girl in another city. That's a good thing, but still be careful. I would try to move on. If something is to happen it will, but it doesn't, to me sound ,like he wants to move on. You definitely don't want to become his rebound if they get in an argument. I'd just stay his friend. If you can't be happy with that then just dump the friendship for both of your good. You may want to let him know why so hel'll understand. He may have alot of respect for that. And, want to stay friends. Who knows. He also may decide to part the friendship. If so, well, that's just the way it goes. That's life. And life isn't always good to you. Good luck to you.

Forseeing Fiasco...
My best friend in the entire world, has a girlfriend that goes to school about 4 hours away..and she treats him like crap...she cheats on him (7 guys last semester) and tells him all he does is hurt her and all sorts of horrible things....I know when he has been talking to her by the immediate drop in confidence...
Well, they broke up last May (when he found out about the cheating) and in June he asked me to be his girlfriend...I spent a week trying to figure out what to do...I love him with all of my heart and always have, he is what I want, but I was just begining to date a really sweet guy...well then she came home for the summer and he took her back...and it was a disaster of a summer with a bermuda triangle of the 3 of us because he told both of us that he trusted me more and that if I gave him the chance he would dump her and date me...After a summer of fighting between all of us, she went back away to school and she and my friend are having huge problems and neither trusts the other...My boyfriend and I are having problems because of all the leftover conflict and his jealousy of my friend....
Basically....This is thin ice...Be careful....Either move on or talk to him....Dont meddle and dont be stagnate...do something.

If he has a girlfriend already he probably considers you as just a friend, don't complicate your friendship by trying to push his girlfriend to the side. Accept him as a friend and you will be a lot happier. Look for another guy that has no other commitments. Sorry but it sounds like he has feelings for this other girl and you will only push him away if you try to take this further. Be a good friend to him,, its always great to have a good friend.

Try not to get involved with this guy. You will just end up getting hurt. Look for someone else.
