when you're 16, it doesnt matter how safe you feel when you drive, you dont have alot of experience either way you look at it. look at getting something with a lower center of gravity, such as a sedan, or a truck. things like trackers, and explorers are horrible things to have as first cars. even if you dont ever have any problems or wrecks in them, you're much better off driving almost any other type of car for the first 2 years of driving.
if you truly feel an SUV is the only possible thing you could drive, get something with a good crash test rating, such as a volvo like this one:
http://cars.com/features/autoshows/2006/newyork/coverage/images/07_Volvo_xc90_frontangle_mfr_430.jpg (yes it is an 07 in this photo)
volvos are known for their safety, and if you do end up having a wreck (because the true problem is, one of these times you wont realize how fast you are going around a corner, and where all SUVs sit up so high, they roll over, instead of screeching the tires, and just loosing control.) and end up much like this:

even experienced drivers have trouble keeping control in SUVs. you just have to learn to be very carefull, and it takes time, especially for a new driver. all the money in the world cannot teach you to be patient, and carefull. and even with patience and caution, you can still make a mistake! experience is the most important thing you can have! so please think about the descision you are about to make carefully. do you want to live to see your 21st birthday?

I'm also going to be turning 16. I'm looking into the 2007 Wrangler Unlimited. That thing is sweet and there are already aftermarket products for it. I would go with that. Also i'm looking into a Tahoe, but I still like the wrangler better. Good Luck

if you live in CA, then buy the SUV called El Auto Bus! you're already scaring me.
if not, go to Carsdirect.com and do a side by side comparison of SUVs. Here's the two I would say.
Infinity FX35
Nissan Murano

Go to the library and read the reviews in Consumer's Report. Personally I don't think an SUV is a good purchase for your age group.

in case you do not care what human beings imagine, why ask those questions. Your mom's pals statement curiously damage you plenty. you word your difficulty from a very distinct attitude than your mom's pal. She sees that your mom is searching after your toddlers. you won't be able to be worrying for the toddlers for all time if you're in college and dealing, nor can your boyfriend if he's operating. i'm attempting no longer to rag on you, yet my daughter changed into 17 and had one new child and that i cared for him lots of the time, yet to take heed to her tell it, she did each little thing. My kinfolk ought to get indignant at her because of the pressure she positioned on me. Oh, and by making use of ways, at the same time as your 22 year previous boy pal can no longer administration you, he will head on down the line and there you'd be on my own with 5 or six youthful toddlers. on your human being sake and the sake of your toddlers, get on some style of birth control and stop having toddlers.

none none none. unless you have more money than brains. kids buy with emotion and not using their brains. buy a good older car and put the new car payment into a mutual fund. in a few years you will be very glad you did. girls
are more impressed with a bank account than a new car.

None unless you want to be in debt forever for something that will only go down in value. Buy something affordable and save your money!
