Their parents have all the answers, right? Got Dr.Sears on audiotape, his holy tomes of child rearing, and the complete and unabridged guide to parenting in the Serengeti, because you know we can't be trusted to make sound decisions in the modern world...

Anyways, after they've been breastfed for 4 years, worn in a sling dat and night until both mom and dad suffer from Cauda Equina Syndrome, ran the whole household unreigned since babyhood into teenager, never been told NO with any authority and conviction...much less taught right from wrong and respect for elders, and no home training whatsoever, well, what will come of these "perfectly parented" youth? I await with bated breath to see the outcome 16 years from now. I have a feeling these times are going to be looked at as the new "good ole days".

Remeber Dr. Spock...he preached laissez- faire parenting in the 60`s and then in the late 80`s appologized for such a stupid idea. These things cycle back around every 20 years or so as academics attempt to make a name for themselves studying kids and parents(instead of being one). Then there was the Rogerian no fail school idea, which later was dropped as another really stupid idea. Both concept are based in the idea that a child`s self esteem is the most important thing and it must be allowed to develop undeterred by negativity in order to avoid low self esteem.
Unregulated human behavior breeds generations of narrcissm, or as the 90`s was called...the me generation. This also relates to abortion as the ultimate example of i care only about me concept, as something that grew out of the self absorbed, lack of responsiblity taking, liberalism of past decades with a gender twist.

Just look at the grown up's of today and look at them in the history book's, so what's your verdict? Yea! There not much better now either, but the problem is that there are so many more of them today as to yesterday. The problem is that there so misguided and there's still nothing for them to do except to just sit around and come up with mischuff. Some have been so misguided that you don't even want to be around them because all they do is start trouble or run there mouth's about nothing. So what's the cure? It has to come from the top, but when the top is corupt the bottom's not going to be any better! A good example of how disturpted people have become is to go get a citizen band radio and tune to channel 19 and youll get a good picture! So here's to the grown up's who havent grown up and to the childern of such! When do we start building a zoo for these?

First who breastfeeds their kids for 4 years???
I also think that all kids are disciplined in one way or another. Just cause it don't seem like the kind of discipline you would choose don't mean it's still not discipline. Some parents allow their children as they get a little older to make their own mistakes and most of those kids actually do learn from their mistakes. Which is really the best way to learn things.
I don't think they will be a lot of the older generations bosses and such and make a good life for their self. When looking back on their past they should think it was hard work to get where they are but it was well worth it and they would not have changed anything.

A lot of parents want to be their child's "Friends". Parents are not meant to be their friends...that's what other kids their own age are for. Parents are meant to guide them into adulthood with morals, and kindness, not hatred and ignorance. A lot of the kids that are allowed to run wild or run the family homes end up very dissolusioned as adults when they actually realize that the world really doesn't revolved around them, and they can't hold jobs, and end up on drugs or in jail. Whether people like it or not, I WILL spank my son because a pop on the butt is better then them being a holy terror.

That's not how I'm raising my son. But I don't have to hit him either. Never heard of Dr. Sears nor parenting in the Serengeti?

Flipping burgers at the nearest fast-food restaurant. You want fries with that?
I am pleased to say not all of us with young children are rearing them that way. It's good parents like us who will have the leaders of tomorrow, not these people.

they'll be pregnant at sixteen, druggies and still "finding themselves" at 25. They'll be living at home with Mommy and Daddy until the age of 35. I love the part of being breastfed until 4... priceless.

in jail,in prison,or in the ground, don`t laugh,in a prison on the moon,it all depends on the place they grow up in and the people they grow up with.I find it so hard to believe that some people say they never had to spank their child their whole lives...But in most Native American villages they never did spank or beat their children, all they had to do was give them a look

Children today are undisciplined, disrespectful little pieces of flotsam and jetsam that are basically ignored by self-absorbed parents. Where will they be in later life? Either bloodthirsty crooks or powermad cops.

well. i think non-disciplined kids might be drug users or pushers,or maybe crime makers,or squatters and street person,or no job person in the future...that makes me think ,that they dont have any future anymore...they could also be in jail...coz right?they dont have discipline so they dont know how to follow rules which will cause them to be non rule followers...
