men in general?
I mean if your father was emotionally, verbally or physically abusive to you, and since he was the first person that a daughter has with a guy really as a father figure and if it was NOT good how can she get along with other men if she tries.
And what if you were almost raped by a guy that a family member introduced you to?
I've had many bad first dates where I find out the guy is not good, meaning not treating me right, or just into sex, or not serious.
I have been to counseling.
I choose to stay away from men, and not get in relationships at all.
Am I doomed forever being single, and unmarried?

Counseling over such things is okay if you cant work things out for yourself, but for only a limited time! Talking about and reliving bad experiences are useless and nonproductive and not forward moving. You can choose to leave it behind. People survive many of lifes situations worse than what you have described.
Choose to make a difference in your life. :)

You're not doomed to anything you don't want to be. I am sorry to hear about your bad past, but you must remember it is just that, "past". I am not saying to put caution to the wind, I am saying you need to move forward with your life and not dwell on the bad things. Look forward to the time when you may meet someone you want to spend your life with, not worrying that you never will.

that sux not all guys are pric-ks tho some are nice its just u have to be with them for a long time start off as really good friends and be a recluse for a little while continue counceling and dont tell them about ur bad past till u really want to get close to them, just go out with them for a long time before u start doing anything and take it slow.
