Yeah, why not? It's because of people like you eighth grade girls are always worried about boys not asking them out or for their number. So you are expected to make the first move. Take a chance! The sooner you get used to asking girls for their numbers, the sooner you'll be a big Hugh Hefner with playboy bunnies following you around. Just by asking for it, you're huge steps ahead of people your age.

:) Definetly do it! She would be so glad to know that you're interested! But it depends.. do you talk to her alot? If you do go for it, but if you don't then just work your way into it, talk to her and stuff, and then just see how it goes from there, and just get to know her make her your friend and casually ask her for it! 8th grade....hint-make sure you dont date much because when you get in my grade (11th) theres like no options because uve seen it all unless you think it will last. dont do it just for looks. but sure why not, just be like duh whats your number, so you dont give it away that you like her quite yet, then the next step is not to have a silent conversation on the phone
