I know that Mac has things like Garage Band, and photo editing technology. That's all well and good, but how's the gaming? How's the software that I would be using for school?

Seeing as you can run modern macs with microsoft operating systems there isn't really a battle of "mac or pc" anymore. Macs were macs because they ran on Macintosh Operating System, and PC's often ran on windows operating systems or linux. Seeing as that has all changed within the past year or so it all comes down to hardware specs. Processor speeds, video cards, motherboard specs etc will determine the "better" computer now. For video gaming a windows operating system is prefered 9 out of 10 times. Macs running windows operating system are slightly slower than pcs due to the the way the code is processed...but it is very very very little. My suggestion to you, if you are buying a new computer, compare the specs on computers and check out tomshardware.com for actual performance based comparisons all sorts of computer products. That will help you figure out what you really need and what is too little, and what is overkill. Best of luck.

PC is better the only reason people say Mac is better is because not very many ppl use it yet so there arnt a lot of viruses yet but that will happen over time. PCs are more compatible with software and i think you can use the mac os on a PC. The main thing that makes mac better is the editing software that it has.

It's a matter of preference, but the macs are far less susceptible to viruses and attacks. There's less software, but the newer apples can run Windows software too. The early PC operating systems totally ripped off the apple-style operating systems.
Apple seems to do more as far as supporting education. They offer educational discounts for students teachers and schools.

I hate mac, but I have to admit there good for some things, not so googd for others. Garage band for mac, media center for PC. games for PC, spyware and viruses also for PC. It depends on what you do. If you use a P2P program use a mac, but if youre a gamer, get windows. My solution is dual boot.

In my personal opinion, Macs are better for personal use. PCs are better for business use. Do what I did and buy a couple of each.

mac is supposed to actually be able to multi-task where a pc cannot. but many more programs are compatible with a pc. mac's are supposed to be better for graphics so would probably be better for gamers

mac with dual boot, that way you can have both.
