We had crate trained dogs with no problem in the past until we got a bassett and had NO luck. We had to get rid of her and got ANOTHER one and had the SAME problem. Bassetts were bred to be stubborn so they wouldn't give up on hunting small game. You're going to have to be patient.

If you yell at a dog for having an accident they tend to try to hide the evidence, by eating/ drinking it or going behind a couch for example. She might just be scared to get yelled at.
