It is not because of our troops. They need out of there. There is a civil war going on, and noone can stop it.
Please let our troops come home, dear God I pray.
This was a messed up-mixed up war--we went to war without a reason. Sure people say the people needed democracy--the republicans said that----yet if the people wanted that-they would have started their own rebellion
Why did the US try to enforce upon this religious nation their own tactics?
Do not forget the haliburton wins!

I honestly dont think that it is the republicans that dont care. I dont fully agree with the war but to some degree i do. It was Clinton that didnt do any think about the US Embasy bombing in egypt, the bombing of the USS Cole. Also the humanitarian effort in which our marine were killed giving food to other countries and subsequently had there clothes ripped off and the bodies parades thought the streets. That sounds to me that Democrats dont care.
Also a democrat started our involvement in veit nam a very similar situation. A democrat also involved us in WWII which our current situation looks more and more like an upcoming WWIII. Iraq had chemical weapons, they had wmds they used them on their people, the had red mercury although the lone ingridiant is not a wmd it is only used for nitrogen bombs( this would be classified as a WMD) they had mustard gas. they have plane with spaying mechanisms not used for bullets but for chemicals.
The inept world debate club of the UN gave iraq 9 month before we even went to look for these weapons. That is more than enough time to ship you weapons to syria.
Please I do not think that bush is doing a good job with the war but i totally agree that we should be there.
The only reason france and germany are supporting us in the war is because chiraq is a girl and doesnt do any thing because he is too afraid that his people will dislike him, just look at how he handled the student roits about 6 months ago. Also germany is a large producer of iraq military equipment. They make too much money off iraq to go to war with them and lose there trade influence.

Warfare is different. In WW I and WW II, we bascially bombed the hell out of the enemy and they had no choice but to surrender.
Now, we shoot missle at building during the night so we don't hurt anyone. What good does that do? They'll just try to kill us next week. The politicians say "well, those people are just trying to make a living, they don't deserve to die because their country is using them to make chemical weapons." BULL!!!
War suck, people die. Innocent people too. But if you go to war, you gotta go full speed so the other side understands...if we did that in Iraq, the people would turn in the "insurgents."
Of course, the other problem is that there are different "factions."
Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurd all living in the same country. Imagine if someone came over hear and tried to make Canada, the USA and Mexico all one country. We'd fight dirty too.

They care but they know we can't leave yet.
We cannot abandon the people of Iraq like last time. A withdrawal now would signal our defeat and the terrorist ranks would swell. This is NOT an option. What would our men and woman have died for if the country were too fall after we left? More troops would just be sent back over there and we would have too start all over. The situation in Iraq is not as bad as the media says it is I assure you.

There are plenty of really complicated answers for this, but the simplest is probably that neither side is willing to concede defeat yet. Wars always continue until either only one side is left or one side is willing to give up on terms agreeable to both sides.
As neither the US nor the Islamists are willing to leave on terms agreeable to the other side, the fighting continues.

It takes time to establish a new government
democracy takes a even longer time before it starts work even without all the added pressure.
Things are falling into place even the terrorists have political party now
three or four elections from now and things should settle down
A good example would be the old Soviet block
its just now starting to settle into a nice rhythm

Republicans don't care? I think you need to take a step back and reevaluate the question. George Bush cares enough to at least do something about terrorism, unlike his predecessor who had several chances, but never did anything!

The head of Halliburton made $100 million last year.
I don't think he or cheney is ready to give up that kind of money.

The longer the war goes on the more it costs... The more it costs the more money certain corporations make and the more money finds its way into the hands of the few.

It will end only after Bush is no longer president. He can't grasp the idea that he has lost it.
