I thought you were dead, Paul. In which case don't pop by my house. 7/11 stores are open around the clock.

It depends on the person. I'd get pretty cranky. It's not the extra food or work, it's the fact that it throws your whole schedule out, because people generally don't eat dinner then leave straight away. What if I was planning an evening of passion with my boyfriend, then you pop up with a bottle of wine and a bag of groceries?

So phone ahead by at least half an hour, and give them the opportunity to graciously say it's not okay.

I used to not mind when I was cooking everyday. Now that I live alone, there isn't always anything on hand that I could just whip something up. Show up unannounced, don't expect dinner, but if your hungry, we can all go out. Everyone pays for their own.

Yes I feel it is. Even if most of your friends don't say so they probably talk to one another when your not around. I think all the friends you do this to you should invite over for dinner for about a month and make up for some of your inconsiderate ways. But if most of your friends eat lots of minute meals maybe your okay.

ya its kinda impolite

your friend maybe able to whip up more food but what if he was in the middle of something important with his guests like discussing a serious family problem, a marriage proposal etc & his guests cant stay so late, you would have cut in to their time & possibly denting their plans

besides the extra food he whips up may not be as good as the first batch,as he may not have enough ingredients or worse he may not have extra like maybe for t-bone steaks & pork chops (you normally get them in pcs )

If you know the people well and you're practically Fambly, then it's acceptable...where I come from, there's always room for one more! People you're merely acquainted with? Kinda impolite to do the popping in thing.

Well, unless it's a thing you do. Like you have friends who you regularly pop in with for dinner and they do the same to you. But yes, it's normally rude.
