I need a good name. His picture is at the link below, but it really doesn't do this sweetheart justice. Hes loving, playful, and EXTREMELY sweet. He asks for love, but isn't needy. He's a male, and will probably get to be a big boy.

So far we have Oreo (black on the outside, white down the middle?) and someone wanted to call him "moocow", but I don't really love either of those.

Thanks for the input!

We've also got "boots" and "muffins", but I think those are too common.

You could call him Damned Spot, as in the famous line from Lady Macbeth "Out Damned Spot." I'm getting that from the funny spot on his face that looks like its trying to escape.

He reminds me of a cat we had for many years, only his face had black and white markings that looked like a little goatee. His name was Rogue.

I have two black and white kittens. One is Panda, the other is Pacer (he has a heart murmur and my boyfriend has a pacemaker, so he kinda adopted him). Another name we thought of using for Pacer was Shadow. The last black and white cat I had I named Tommy (short for Tom Cat Clover -- I had a botanical theme going on back then.). Good luck! Black and white kitties are sooo hard to name because their coat pattern doesn't usually scream anything that isn't cliche. Took me almost a week to name this last pair.

there are name books for pets...just like the Baby Naming books.
I usually write down all my favorite and then try to decide which one would fit my pets best. Sometimes it takes me days to find the perfect name...but when you hear it, you will know its it. I have a cat named Lucy (my daughter was very into Little Bear at the time) and then a cat named Mozart...cuz when he was a kitten, his hair was so long and crazy that it reminded me of the movie Amadeus.

MEOWER - "one who meows."

Most cats meow at some point or another. If you don't find that he looks like any of the other names, "Meower" is your best bet.

I also once had a cat named "Silas Greene from New Orleans." It only worked because he was, in fact from N.O. Maybe you could find a name that rhymes with your city.

Just a thought.

it depends. what type of person you are and what you and your cat likes....? i think he looks like he be a puck, also known as robin goodfellow, because he looks like he could be"a shrewd and knavish sprite" with his whiskers and all :p jack also sounds like a playful and fun name for a playful and fun kitten :p i think that pari or peri could be cute to because peris are descended from fallen angels who have been denied paradise until they have done penance. in earlier sources they are described as agents of evil; later, they are benevolent. they are exquisite, winged, fairy-like creature ranking between angels and evil spirits. they sometimes visit the realm of mortals. :p
weird names but different and not expected like blackie or mittens! hope this at least gives you some ideas. he's a cutie and deserves an interesting name :p

I was thinking Tigris like the Tigris river in the middle east. I know it sounds more like a females name but at least its original. Plus I have two dogs named Niel and Jordan, get it.

Griddlebones from the book Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Elliot. If you don't like Griddlebones, there are a bunch of unique cat names in this book.
