Its pretty good for an inexpensive wine. Another would be woodbridge.

It is a cheap wine but, for what it is, it is a good wine. E&J Gallo introduced the Turning Leaf line of wines for the sole purpose of exploring the more "commerical" side of the wine industry. They wanted to make their wines more accessible and more readily used on an everyday kind of basis so rather than bringing down the wines they made for special occasions, they created a whole new line. It's not bad for what it is but there are certainly a lot more complex, interesting wines available from E&J Gallo.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (where 10 is a very good wine), Turning Leaf is a 3.
Try a variety of wines made in Australia and New Zealand -- they're not too pricey, but are excellent. Labels I like are Jacobs Creek, Villa Maria, and Four Sisters.

Although I used to be biased against most Gallo products, Turning Leaf actually has value and quality in it. Try to find it on sale. The last time I tried their Cab, it was quite tasty.
