For me. Not good. My 27 year old brother acts 16!! Or how about your family in general?? My mom sucks. She obviously has a favorite sometime I feel it.

Brother is a druggie with a druggie girlfriend...and he hasn't cared to see me in about 6 years.
My little sister died 2 years ago.
PS. My parents moved away, left me behind and couldn't care less about me. My mother's last words to me were: " I wish I never had children"

I have a twin brother and a slightly younger sister. I like my siblings and they like me, but we all have our own lives, so we don't talk as much as we should, but we all know we love each other.

I used to think my Mom had a favorite too, but after talking to my sister (whom I thought was the favorite) I realized that her relationship with our Mom is waaaay different than I had thought.

Your 27 year old brother probably is 16 at heart, most men are! ha ha Just be the best person you can be and realize that all families are flawed, and hopefully that's enough! Good luck!

Ya, I feel your pain. My parents don't even pretend not to have favorites anymore. When I was a teenager it was pretty rough on me, but now I just don't let it bother me.

I know I can't rely on my sisters or brother, as I have always been the sibling on the outside of the cute little family circle. Being the middle child, they all made little connections with one another, and always kinda excluded me. Its ok though, just find an outside support, like friends, or a spouse, etc.

And remember, just because they have a favorite doesn't mean they don't love you too. It kinda sucks when everyone else talks about what a great relationship they have with their siblings now, but keep in mind that not everyone feels that way. Its not so bad, just have faith in yourself! You don't need your family behind you if you do. Just learn not to depend on them if they always just dissappoint you.

Being dysfunctional isn't that rare. Seriously, if you talk about it with some of your friends, I bet you'll find that some of them have little dysfunctional twists to their families too. Just remember, you're not alone.

When I was younger, not so good. I have a brother and three sisters, all older. Now that we're all in our 40s and above, we have gotten past all the childhood/rivalry stuff and for the most part, we get along great. Not that there aren't the occasional fights and misunderstandings. We lost our mother 6 years ago, and usually once something like that happens, you start realizing what's really important in life, and family is one of those things.

Our family is dysfunctional too.

My brother moved to the country to be by himself. My sister married a rich guy and snobs the rest of us.

My mother was a control freak and an undiagnosed depressive person, as well as abusive. Dad just didin't know how to be a father. His own father had cut out when he was a young boy, so he didn't have one.

You might go to Alanon, they're a good support group for dysfunctional families. And it's free. They might just ask for coffee donation money, that's all.

I have a sister that is 3 years younger. We are somewhat close but not anything like best friends. I enjoy her company but we don't hang out all that much.

I know my next door neighbor better than my mom. I don't think my mom ever wanted to be a mom but did it because having a family was "the right thing to do" back then. It makes me sad though. I would love to have a mom that I could go to lunch with or go shopping with but my mom would never do things like that.

I'v got a big familiy. I'm the only girl, I got 3 brothers.Sometimes it can get really annoying having so many boys in the family, but then its good cause I 'm friends with all my brothers friends and they're hot and very protective!!!! So thats a good thing......but cause I dont have any girls my age in my family, besides my mum, and she's ALWAYS busy and we dont do anything together, it can get REALLY lonely and boring. So I do my best and entertain myself :) And cause I'm a girl, I cant go out as much as my brothers which is REALLY UNFAIR!!! But overall we get on really well, and I dont know what I would with out my family!!!!!!

It's a matter of how your were raised... I was the middle child and I always felt that I was a bit left out... My older sister hated me when I was born because I took all of her attention. Then my brother was born and he was the one getting it all. But i guess its like that sometimes. Now my sister is my most favorite person in the world!!! I hate my brother but love him the most...

with three of my brothers we get along. i get along with my oldest brother(23) probably the best. the other two(21.15)we get along pretty well most of the time. But my other brother(17) he and i cannot get along. yes some times we do but most of the time we are at one another's throats.

and as for mom and dad. i get along with them. but sometimes i really do feel like they dont care what happens to grades and my careers and future like they do with my brothers. if i came home with a C or so they'd be happy...as long as i'm not failing. but if a brother brought home a B look out!!

i'm 19 by the way
