It's my birthday tommorrow.
Today I talked to my mom about my birthday when we are both in the house. She ignored me. I repeated myself 3 times, she still ignored me. I feel so sad, so hurt. I hate her.

Does she normally celebrate your birthday? Dont wnt to give false hope but there could be a suprise. Yet i do doubt that. My parents never celebrate my birthday! It always makes me sad. But what can i do? I ask them why they dont. But they say its not what our religion does. BUT I SEE EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS THE SAME RELIGION AS ME CELEBRATE THEIR BIRTHDAY! But meh.
Life goes on. You cant just get depressed and kill yourself over such things.
Oh also dont forget to sing.

Well have a great birthday anyway. Maybe she is gong to have a surprise party for you. I know you're depressed, but try to look at the good things in your life. You celebrate your birthday even if she has ignored you. Get online and have a party with the answer family on yahoo!

If your mom is anything like my mom then she might be upset with you for some other reason. Mom's get angry, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about that. My advice, not professional, is that you should talk to her about it, and let the chips fall where they may.
It's usually better to get it out in the open. The other side of the coin is that, you will stay mad at her and she may stay mad at you, and you both can sit and wait for the other to come clean. I hope this may help you in this difficult situation. Remember families fight, but they still love. Good luck.

I'm so sorry for you sweetie. My wish for you is that she did that b/c she has a surprise planned for you. If not, then let her read these responses to your question and hopefully she will feel as bad as possible and change her ways and show you the love and affection that you deserve. I'm guessing your Mom isn't big at celebrating birthdays. Mine wasn't either. I got a crescent wrench for my birthday a few years ago. Wahoo! I have found ways to celebrate on my own. I hope you can enjoy your birthday with or without the support from your Mom.

Next, it sound's like your mother has her own issues. Just realize that she is a human being also, that can be totally screwed up in the head. Tell yourself and get yourself on the track to try to not be like her.

If she is that self-centered & unfeeling, then don't expect her to meet your needs. You can tell her how it makes you feel, but you can't change her. You can, however, change your reaction to her. Don't go in with high expectations & you won't be in for such a letdown. Unfortunately, we can't pick our parents. You need to find safe people who are supportive, loving & caring and not so wrapped up in themselves. I am sorry for you, but don't lose hope & have a happy birthday anyway ;)

we are lucky tht we have the luxury to enjoy our birthdays. there are thousands of children out there in ths world who dnt know whether they can afford their next meal !
