Your cycle can change as you age. If you are having a heavy period more than once a month (I'm assuming your cycle normally is around 28-35 days) you might want to go to the doctor.

There are some things to consider. I don't know all of them, but I know what the reasons have been for me so far.
First of all, is it possible you are pregnant, (Just because you had a period, does not mean that you are not pregnant)? So basically, are you sexually active? If so, you could possibly have had a miscarriage, (or complications). If you think that it's possible that you have experienced this very painful and sad thing...definitely go to a doctor. There are things that will need to be taken care of. DO NOT put this off!
Have you recently moved in somewhere new or had someone move into your house, (a female, most likely)? When a woman lives around another woman, their cycles kinda change. The same is also true if a woman has left your residence. Your cycle will change, (kinda re-regulate itself).
Stress is a MAJOR factor in cycle. Are you under new stress at all? try to relax as much as you can. This goes to all areas of your life...make sure you are eating right, kinda exercise regularly, etc. I have had a couple of 13 and 14 day periods before because of stress. You won't always think that the stuff you are having to put up with is that big of a deal, but your body is obviously telling you something different.

If your a first time teen, then it will take awhile for your menstrual cycle to even get on a cycle.
If your a woman whose in your 20 and older.....then I would be very concerned, and go see a dr. If your in tune with your body, then you will know if somethings wrong. I did! I was right. Mine was cancer. Im ok now.

Call your doctor or a health clinic. There is absolutely no benefit to seeking the opinons of non-qualified people. If you want to not be worried, you need a professional opinion.

My hormones have been crazy lately.
I don't know because I am confused with mine too. Could be stress.
I used to be like that when I was younger, and I got horrible cramps too but now it has gotten better but it comes very late.

You could have menorrhagia, which is excessive menstrual bleeding still, I would go to a doctor just make sure that it is not anything serious!
