There are many different theories as to why a person becomes a serial killer. Some think that serial killers are the way they are because of psychological or chemical imbalances. Others tend to think that they are serial killers because of things that happened to them while they were growing up. Do a search on Serial Killers and you'll be amazed at what turns up. Many claim to have been abused as children. The stories of Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and others are very interesting stories.

I think either is possible. I grew up with a kid who was not mistreated at all, and he is a serial killer who is in prison in Washington. He was definitely not "right" when he was a kid and did some horriffic things. His mother sought treatment for him even when he was in the 2nd grade. However, two kids that my brother went to school with (also in prison in Washington right now) were serial killers and one of them was horridly abused by his step father. They were serial killers before they ever graduated from high school. I really do think it can go either way. I make that judgement from intimate personal experience.

I think they are made. Many parent don't really pay attention to "Red Flags". If they did I think many serial killers could have gotten proper help before they started to kill.

But how many parents refuse to admit they have a kid with severe emotional problems? Not many. The lie they tell themselves is "Oh he will grow out of it" And they don't.

Other parents let their children relentlessly tease and bully weaker kids and some of them can't handle it. So when they get older they start doing weird crap that will eventually lead to killing.

i will argue they are born. we opt to trust that all and various is born solid, and that there's a reason behind why they turn evil. This makes us sense more advantageous acceptable. even with the indisputable fact that one killer admitted that considering she turned right into a baby she had had to kill someone. She did not come from a foul historic past. At age 19 she changed into in a contented relationship & were doing properly in her artwork analyze, received an artists award even. yet this changed into no longer sufficient for her. She had began to kill cats, and instructed her boyfriend it changed into time to come across a human sufferer. and so as that they did. Psychologists determined she turned right into a psychopath who changed into on her thanks to growing a serial killer. It merely looks that folk like this were born with the evil gene.

Both. The entrance fee to living life on the earth is that you must first be born. After that, stuff that happens to you and the way you are either nurtured or neglected, mixed with other factors, help make you into what you are going to be.

A serial killer CHOOSES to kill. Then continues choosing to kill.

They are made by neglect and mental terrorism. And terrorism isn't just a madman with a bomb attached to him, school bullies are just as ruthless. Both have the mission of directing fear and pain towards their victims, just different levels and methods.
