My neighbors are giving away kittens and I REALLY want one. My Parents won't let me have one though! I've told them that I fully commit to taking care of it. I have a cat (5 years) but I want a kitten too. The neighbors are giving the cat away free. I will do anything for a kitten! What should i do so my parents will let me have a kitten? PLEASE HELP!!!

Well, this may take a whle, but start out with a goldfish and get bigger, it will show your parents you're responsible

It is selfish to want a kitten, just take care of the cat you already have. And what about what happens when you go to college, etc? Cats can live up to 15 years, and I guarantee you can't be taking this new kitten with you into the dorms. Your parents are the ones who are going to have to keep it then. Why the heck would you want to bring in an animal that is not wanted by half the people who live in your house?
Also, remember a kitten is only a kitten for so long. Several months vs the extra 14 years of their lives. Take care of your 5 year old cat.

free kittens cost alot more in the long run - you still have to vaccinate, deworm and have it vet checked and later spayed or neutered.
it isnt fair to your adult cat to bring home a kitten that could even make your cat sick..
it isnt fair to your parents they would be the ones paying for the care and food of the kitten and taking on the responsibility of a LIFETIME COMMITMENT

it is selfish of you to want a kitten simply becuase it is small and cute and you "really want one"
a good pet owner puts the needs of everyone ahead of their own wants
all pets should be family pets

save your money when you move out you can get any pet you want - but never take free kittens - it is always cheaper to adopt from an SPCA or humane society where all the medical things are done before hand at a reduced rate, cheaper than the adoption cost is, and cheaper than for you to get a free kitten and do everything to it..

Did you ask you parents for specific reasons they don't want you to have another cat? If cat hair and the smell of the litter box and expense of cat food and little for 1 cat is almost more than they can stand already, maybe you should wait until you get your own place.

Why won't be able to you carry your cat interior really? She's in distinct threat outdoors - human beings, dogs, different animals, autos, etc. are ALL waiting to damage your cat. you should imagine no longer, even with the indisputable fact that it in reality takes one time to lose your cat continually. Kittens also strengthen up. they are very cute little handfuls even with the indisputable fact that it truly is not lengthy till your kitten is an human being - will you nonetheless desire him/her then? it is also no longer honest to segregate your cats, or to doom one to a risky existence outdoors at the same time as the lovable little kitten receives to stay interior. i imagine your mothers and fathers must be far more advantageous inspired in case you went to them and defined the disadvantages of a cat residing outdoors, and instructed them you realized it truly is on your present day cat's acceptable in touch to proceed to be with out a kitten yet to let your present day cat to stay a more advantageous perfect (and secure!) existence-style. they could appreciate that adulthood.

Do stuff to make your parents think you are responsible and ask if your neighbors can keep one for you for a little while so you can butter your parents up and make sure to get really good grades in school and maybe join a club in school and do responsible stuff you don't usaully do. Maybe get a job as a pet sitter.

If you have asked and they keep saying no...there is really nothing you can do to get them to change their minds. Why not ask why they say no? Sometimes it is just best to let it go or they will get angry and you will end up in more trouble than the kitten was worth.

Beg and plead, and say you want to start over. I lost my kitty to an illness back in February, killed me, I cried to my dad, "I want another cat!" and he laughed at me, BUT he promised I could get one, only after we came home from vacay. Beg and PLEAD! And show them that you can take care of the one you have, and show them that you are able to take care of another kitten. Or give them hints.

I would make a list of reasons why I want the kitten and what I would do to get one. If they don't let you have one, go on a hunger strike. No, im kidding, dont do that.
Just dont give up!!!!
