No way she was probably pregnant before they were married and just wanted to save face. premies are always little. A ten pounder was full term or an over due birth. Hopefully the baby is your sons and he may want to believe it was premature because he may have doubts. In this day and age I don't see the reason to not let on your pregnant before the wedding.

Is your son trying to say the baby was born after only 5 months of pregnancy? I sincerely doubt a 10 pound baby could be premature, and I'm not entirely sure a baby would survive after only 5 months in utero. If your daughter-in-law had gestational diabetes, the baby might have been bigger than most premature babies, but 10 pounds is really pushing the limits. Did the baby have to stay in the hospital in an incubator at all? Most premature babies spend quite a bit of time in the hosptial before they can go home.

Your mother is right on target. She means that these people conceived that baby long before they made it to the altar, and they don't want to say that. So they are saying the baby is premature. This is an old-fashioned excuse that used to work well enough if the baby was only a few weeks "early" and small for its age. When the baby weighs ten pounds, this excuse becomes laughable and plain pathetic.
You should ask your mother to clarify stuff like this. She sounds well able to instruct you.

10 pounds is very big That weight is more common in full term pregnancy's but can happen In premature babies. When a doctor Say's premature they are referring to babies born 37 weeks or earlier. When born that soon babies can have many complication not due to their weight but to there time being cut shot in the uterus. Hinse the word premature. Many babies born premature have little or no lungs fully developed and have a hard time breathing again nothing to do with their weight. Mature means to be Having Reached full natural Growth or development. " A mature Cell". My brother in law's wife had their daughter full term at 40 weeks and she only weighed 5 pnds 12 ounces. Check out google and type in "all about premature Babies". Your mother ment that the baby was conceived before they got married meaning they had sex out of wedlock and then decide to get married. I hope you understand that better

My husband had one of those 10lb premature babies.
It has to be possible, he had sex with the baby's Mom for the first time about 7 months before the baby was born.
We have now been married for years. In the early years I told him a thousand times to get a paternity test, it was so obvious the baby could never have been his biological child.
He loves that son just as much as he loves his other 4 children without any test to tell him different.
Let you son alone unless he asks for your advice.

Not bloody likely. Who are they trying to fool? Talk about putting your cart before the horse. So she was pregnant already, big deal! I was 2 months pregnant on my wedding day and my son was born a month early. My hubby and I both admit it. We were already engaged and everything with the wedding was finished, we were just waiting for the date to roll around and God decided to give us a kid right away. Like we always say "We didn't get married because I was pregnant, I got pregnant because we were getting married." Of course that may not have been the case in your son's situation, but there's still no reason to make up such a silly lie.

Your mother most likely ment they were pregnant before they got married , & I would have to agree my son was 2 weeks late & he was 9lb 14 oz . Is the baby healthy , I mean no birth defects like enlarged body ( not being mean just trying to think of why at 5 months it weighs 10 lbs ) if I were you if the baby is healthy & they are all happy Id leave it alone they might be a bit embarassed by her being preg before marrige.... hope it all works out ...

im assuming they THOUGHT the baby was premature because she delievered 5months after their marriage.. but it turned out that she was 4months pregnant at the wedding and thus it wasnt a premature baby but a late wedding. i.e. they should have been married before she got pregnant oops.

are you sure it isnt a one-pound baby?
Or do they mean premature in the fact that maybe she was already pregnant when they got married and it is premature for the time factor?
