How long should you email a guy you meet online (on a dating site) before you talk on the phone? I like to email for a while to get to know the guy a little before calling him. Guys seem to think you are playing games with them if you don't want to talk on the phone. I have found no difference in the success of meeting whether or not I talked to the guy on the phone or not. I work late and when I get home at night (around 9 30) I am tired and have stuff to do just as I am sure these guys do when they get home at 5 or 6, and it is easier for me to email back and forth through the dating site than to get on the phone and talk for an hour when I have things to do like eating, and washing, and all. I like to ask so key questions before I talk on the phone, things that are easier to email than to come out and ask. I think a few days of emailing and then talking on the phone works best.

I've always heard to be careful about these dating sites so I don't talk to anyone on the phone. I just like to chat and I never meet up with anybody. Guess the best to do would be to meet at a public place. Never give a guy a phone number he may get the address somehow.

I agree with you. A few days is totally normal. In fact, it's normal for it to be a few WEEKS. If men expect the phone before then, they are desperate! And you do not want that. When they ask to talk on the phone immediately.. tell them that if you gave out your number to every man who asked for it, 200 men would have your number and be calling you ! Tell them that you prefer to get to know someone to a certain degree to check for compatibility first and then when you feel comfortable you will happily exchange numbers. If a man does not agree to that and see the logic, then HE has the problem.

You take as long as you feel you need to take, if a guy is rushing you then he's not someone you would want to be dating anyway.

Wait until you are comfortable enough to talk to them... u dont want someone that is going to rush you anyway
