Some people say that a good way to ease the pain is to crush ASPIRIN and apply it on the spot.

They also say that Aspirin is better to crush than Tylenol or Ibuprofen, because Aspirin is WATER SOLUBLE.
So what are the benefits of that?

crush some garlic and put on the tooth -the garlic helps ease the pain and kills the bacteria may make tooth better-to keep teeth healthy eating a raw onion-small every day is good for onion as garlic-can also eat a glove of garlic in the AM-both kill all bacteria and get rid of cause then-bacteria-of bad breath and prevent tooth decay. The Ibuprofen or Aspirin will do no good for needs to get into Brain/Bloodstream to work-if you crush and put on tooth it will eventually gt there with the swallowed saliva but why wait that long when garlic works within seconds-takes 3 seconds to kill all the bacteria / eating limes will also keep teeth strong-rinsing mouth whenever you eat sweets. Go to www.home-remedies-for-you,com tells you all about it

NO NOT GOOD. If you have a tooth ache get to a dentist. If you need a painkiller put a wad of cotton soaked in oil of cloves in it. yes oil of cloves, from any drug store and dirt cheap. but see a dentist right away. the oil of cloves is just a temporary measure.
cloves like the spice. Aspirin causes much worse damage, not good.
If you want a rinse for relief just use warm salty water. It is the only thing that helps, warm not hot, rinse, gargle if you like, not for swallowing.
aspirin and anti-inflamitories are for eating and are general not specific. a little does no harm but never ever on the tooth itself.

In my opinion, Ibuprofen is the best temporary relief for a toothache. It is a pain reliever with an anti-inflamatory for swelling. You could also use hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash, it does provide some relief. I know it sounds nasty but it has very little flavor...You definitely need to have it extracted though.

I have done it and in fact I have a real bad one right now. I just take asprins with water it works the same. But in order for the pain to go away you need to kill the infection and for that you will need an antibiotic. And then a trip to the dentist. My appointment in for 9:00 am Monday.

A great natural toothache remedy is to either ground clove or pure food grade clove oil on the affected tooth. This is the most well known of all herbal toothache remedies.
