Keep drinking that water! And chew sugarless gum because the motion of chewing triggers the hormone (I forget the name now) that tells your body that you are full. Seriously, it'll help! Eating late is bad because your body won't have time to burn off those calories before you go to sleep. Of course, having a few carrots or pieces of celery and a little light dip with 3-4 whole grain crackers like Triscuits will still fill you up and not be as bad as plain carbs. Trust me, the gum thing works...but if you can't resist, eat a healthy snack like the carrots/celery/crackers, or 5 Triscuits and low fat cheddar cheese, a small handful of raw almonds, or even some nonfat yogurt with berries on top. All of these are delicious choices and very health conscious decisions too. Try to get on a routine, though, so that if you eat dinner at 6:30 and you're hungry be 10 when you usually go to bed at 11, eat one of the small snacks at 10, then start your bedtime wind-down routine. That way the snack will signal to your body that it's time to relax and go to sleep in a little while.

Probably because your not eating enough fat and protein during the day. Fat controls appetite and provides more compact energy for the body ( and builds your brain). Protein builds your muscles and strength and gives your physical and mental activities a foundation so you don't fatigue as much. I assume you've cut back on calories on this diet, and your body is probably legitimately hungry. Try adding some more calories in the form of fats and protein.. and water doesn't hurt. Also, don't worry about a little cake or ice cream now and then. We live only a few years anyway, why add on a year or two to your life span just to drive yourself crazy...

Well me and my sister both have the same cravings.if you get used to the habit it becomes like a midnight craving habit.If you worry about getting fat then try stopping or just eating something like a couple of grapes or an apple.I say this because its a true fact that the later at night you eat the more weight you put on because fat builds up every 12-13 hours.So it useually builds up at night and if it is just digested it will build up 2-3 times as much fat as if it would during the day.

10 glasses might be a bit too much, you can actually wash out nutrients. 8 is better. Is it dark where you live at this time of night. Sometimes the coming of darkness can trigger a hunger reflex in certain people. You might try one of those broad spectrum lights. You spend time under and around the bright light and it tricks you body into thinking it's earlier in the day. Just some thoughts. Best of luck on your weight loss.

The books I have read on weight loss indicate having a snack before bedtime, but keep it protein based. I would suggest a hard boiled egg and some almonds and more water when you start to have your cravings. It probably means your dinner is wearing off.
