Not in all cases. But when you're absent from someone that has truly stolen your heart , it does.
This is one of the symptoms that mean you love, to yearn for one when one is gone.
I had a sweetheart in 1963 , I left for Viet Nam , When I returned, she and her family had left the state. I looked for her for over 40 years. I recently found her. She died three years ago, before I could see her. I had loved her all those years and wept like a baby at the news of her death.
I used to watch the sky and wonder if she could see the same sky.

No. It may increase worry, doubts, fears unless there is continual contact. And it's detrimental to the psyche. You may feel the same loving attachment to the person over a long period of absence, but there will always remain a feeling of insecurity unless again, real good communication is established.

I don't think so. My husband has been out of town on a work assignment for nearly 3 weeks. The longer he's gone, the more I realize I think it's getting better. The house stays clean. The TV set is not on all of the time. Nobody's over for poker. So there you have it.

Not really. Make your absence felt enough for someone to miss you. But don't make it too long that someone learns to live without you.

Sometimes... it depends on the situation and the people involved in the relationship. A boyfriend and I took a "break" and while i was missing him so badly...he was seeing other women. So yeah... it all depends.

In my experience; NO. A couple of weeks away from a boyfriend and he's dating your best friend.

It did with my ex-husband! The farther away from me he is - the more I can tolerate him.
