Ouch!
They say it normally takes about 6 weeks for most things to heal. The metatarsals form part of the arch of the foot and are weight bearing.

Because they have to bear so much weight, it would probably be a good idea to follow up with physiotherapy to strengthen this area after the rest of waiting the 6 weeks. Are you using crutches now? You might want to go to a cane for a bit till the foot is strengthened, and a cushion orthotic (arch support) for awhile also.

My sister got a spiral fracture in her ankle while mountain biking and it took about 6 months and she had to be in wheelchair for much of that time. I know an ankle provides more support than does some small bones in your foot but I suspect it will take much longer than you think it will to heal. My advice would be to take your Doctor's advice, however long you have to wear the boot. You don't want to "feel" this injury 10 years from now because it wasn't allowed to heal properly. Best to you.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to long.about 23-41 weeks
or 5 months and 3 weeks to 10 months and 1 week. unless you have surgery. but considering your above average i would say about 15-20 weeks depending if you have medicine for it with out anti-biotics or a cream i would say 19-25 weeks great condithion.
good luck with that.

I just had a friend go through something similiar and she's around her mid to late 50's. She didn't even know it was fractured (just thought it was sprained) so she was even walking around (limping, rather) on it. It's been about 6 weeks and she's doing fine now.
