I have some doggies with some serious issues.
First off I got my albino chichi when she was 5 weeks old from a backyard breeder. (I didn't know till he was prosecuted) however I believe that I saved her life because all of the other pups died. (lucky I know a little about nursing animals back to health)
She has had problems with separation, I think, so I got a male shi-chi mix to keep her company and so they can play together. She's doing wonders better with him around, but he is starting some serious behavioral problems. He chews up his wee wee pads when I am away, I come home to pee soaked confetti everyday after class. And the most disturbing thing he does is humps his own mouth, aggressively may I add. He almost looks like he's going to hurt himself. I know that dogs lick themselves to clean, but he will actually pull on himself with his teeth. I've talked to vets (no avail) and the breeder he came from (never heard of such a thing)help he's 7mo old and don't want to get rid of him

he is neutered by the way

it seems like he only does it when I am away, as if he's pissed off or something and wants to show it by being destructive. He has tons of chew toys but chooses to destroy only the pad.

Maybe you should talk to some dog trainers & get him neutered

maybe he is trying to get that shredded wee wee pad off. Take the dogs to puppy class, you take one and a friend take the other. Work with them everyday and see if it makes a difference. My dog was going to be put to sleep for chewing a couch and not being putty trained at 9 months. she is 5 years old and the love of my life, well behaved and all. The smaller breeds seem to take more work than the larger ones like a lab.

At 7 months, he should be pretty close to potty trained. If he's having issues, crate him while you're away- he'll have nothing to chew on and it will improve his outdoor pottying.

Second, he's probably chewing on himself because he's sore or itchy. Does he have hair down there? I'm a groomer and we shave that area on male dogs because dirt and urine collect on the hair and make it uncomfortable. Ask a vet to check him for rashes. If you don't find anything, get a bottle of bitter apple spray from the pet store and wipe it on that area, carefully avoiding the actual opening to the penis- just get it around that region on all the bare skin. It will taste nasty and stop him from chewing. Does he have fleas? Check for that too.

I use baby crib pads instead of the regular puppy pads. My dogs always shredded them too. As for the humping, better have him neutered if he is not already. Hopefully it will make him stop. I had a dog that did that before, but he never hurt himself doing it.

there could be an itch or other problem w/ his wee wee...i had a cat once that i found, she peed on my bed 2 times, when i toke her to the vet, they did a urine test on her and we found out that she had an urinary infection. so after some meds she was fine and never peed on my bed again (and she slept w/ me)but u can ask a dog specialist, usually in those specialty dog stores they have one ie: pet world

Albino chi chi? That's a new one. My dog used to chomp on himself all the time. He had a skin allergy. Ask your vet about possible seborrheic dermatitis.

They should be crated while you are gone. They should also be potty trained correctly so that you don't need to leave those confusing pee pads all over the place.

has he been neutered? usually after you neuter him he calms down a bit and stops humping.
also, does he chew on other things too? or just his pads?
i suggest getting him more chew toys or rawhides and train him to stop chewing.

i believe if you give him more attention you might have better luck. what ireally think is if you dont yell at him and talk to him he will start listening.good luck. just want you to know i have had animals that did things that i was not happy with. didnt yell. just gave them a little push to let them know who was boss. it worked with most of my animals. i have owned about 30 animals. still have some of them and they are still listening.

try a doggie play pen on a tile, or linoliem floor or even a cement floor. and try praising him when he goes in the right place and does not destroy things.
