Bronchitis is awful! And, yes, it can be dangerous. It shouldn't be ignored, it should be treated. Plus, now and then, it's a sign that something else is out-of-whack in the body. My mother's first bout of bronchitis, ever, lead her doctor to find a problem with her blood (too many red blood cells) so you never know if something else is wrong and that depressed his or her immune system enough that they'd get sick.

yes. the mucous could get so thick it could shut down ur breathing. i've had asthma since i was 4 and always ended up getting bronchitis and always had to go to the hospital fromthen till i was about 16. still have flareups tho. i have a regular inhaler and a fast acting 1. yes. don't let it get out of hand.

Yes, you want to make sure you see a doctor, follow his/her instructions, rest, drink fluids, and take all of your antibiotics, even when you start to feel better. (Some people make the mistake of not taking all 14 days' worth, and then the bacteria comes back stronger than before.)
Worst case scenario: pneumonia and hospital.
