We have 3 cats and 2 dogs. The cats like my wife the dogs like me. Any explanation?

There is an old quote that says something like: Only women and artists can appreciate the delicate nature of a cat, and cats know this. Perhaps, though, there is truth that cats women like cats and men like dogs. Either way, the animals can tell easily who prefers which animal, and they will go to that person for affection.

Possibly you are nicer to the dogs and she is nicer to the cats? Do the cats and the dogs get along? If not, that might be the answer. Perhaps the cats smell the dog smell on you and don't like it, and vice versa for the dogs with the cat smell on your wife.
