I not sure of the source of why your hair is falling out but most often its caused by tension on your hair from styling such as braids, cornrow, and tight ponytails, etc. If you don't believe this is the source, I would go to a Dermatoligist if you have access to one.

First. I would seek a professionals help if you have the funds. You probably need a trim to cut out damage, split ends, and just in general. You can find a black stylist even at a hair cuttery, that gives cut and styles for $25.

Second. Stay away from heat styling, ponytails, cornrows, etc. any style that will stress this area of your hair. You can style your hair by wrapping it, wet sets, straw sets, and your stylist may be able to point out other options based on the length of your hair, and its texture.

Third. Always sleep with a silk scarf/bonnet, or purchase a silk pillowcase.

Fourth. Try a hair Vitamin.

Fifth. Use products that are good for your hair. Meaning no alcohol, sufates, petroleum, mineral oil, or lanolin. These products strip your hair. Try using natural products. Such as organic shampoo and conditoners, and it won't be hard to find alcohol free gel and mousses.

*Just because the label reads "Natural" dosen't mean it is, be sure to read the labels.

Go to a stylist fast! They might be able to save what is left and help you repair what you lost. If you don't retouch often enough, your hair will break at the point where the new growth and relaxed hair meet. It's happening to me and I'm being treated by a stylist.

My stylist said to gently apply a dab of dr. miracle to each side every night before bed. not enought that it makes your scalp oily, but to the point where you can see just a small shine on your scalp. It really works. my edges had gone bad from not taking care of icro braids and this is what i did

Go see a Doctor to make sure you don't have a real problem IE fungal infection or worse. Could also be stress or an allergy but you should go see a Doctor to be certain.

While some hair fall daily is natural, stress, hairstyle products and lack of nutrition can cause excessive hair fall as listed at http://tinyurl.com/kshvn . By changing your lifestyle and using herbal remedies, you can reduce hair loss. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/py7z4 .

hair can fall out with extensive use of antibiotics, if you are taking antibiotics, try counter ballancing by taking biotin, which is an over the counter vitamin which naturally enhances the health of hair and nails in general, and replenishes vitamins your body needs to grow hair
