* Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983;
* Lockerbie, Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988;
* First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;

(Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581 terrorist attacks worldwide).

Doesn't look like it! I always think of that song from the musical "Carousal" when people ask this type of question..."Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me"

Because..... We all have the ability to be a nice person, understanding, and knowledgeable, but everyones timing is different.
some of the meanest people, 10 or 20 years from now would be the most understanding, we all have our own time, in Heaven we will be on God's clock, perfect timing.
Be patient, Heaven is coming up soon for most.
Jesus is on his way sooooooon!

Because we are sick of being told that this world would be better without God. There is a saying "Lord, save me from the peace of cowardice".

And another thing, us Catholics want to get along with other Christians but, for years now talking about someone's Mother has always been fightin' words. (Mary)

To me, it seems like when you have a group of humans who care about humanity and this world we live in...and another group of humans who care only about a perceived life-after-death and excitedly welcome the end of the world we live in...there are bound to be some clashes. I know where I'd place the blame for not getting along...on the ones trying to ruin this world to get to the "next"...but thats just me.

as far as "where the world is headed" in your question: again, think about the people who can't wait for things like "the rapture", the 2nd coming, armageddon, or just simply their ticket to "heaven"! that will show us!!

Fear of loss of freedom...I as a christian do not want to lose my freedom to worship or believe as I do....Neither does anyone else...There will always be conflict among human's, no way around that. It has a lot to do with respect of other's. If they choose not to believe that is their right, although it is up to us to spread the Gospel...we have no right to remove or hamper the freedom's of others, the same as no one has the right to do the same to you or I. That is the issue I hear most on here is loss of freedom's.

People always seem driven to some kind of tension and conflict in their lives. If they can't find it, they'll make it. Strange, but true.
