I'm in Chicago and according to a determination by the Zaituna Institute, the fast will begin tomorrow morning after Fajar (Sunday the 24th of September).
Insh'allah Eid will fall on the 25th of October I believe.
May Allah accept your fast and your worship.
Ramadan Mubarak!

I don't about Chicago, but here in California, the first taraweeh is today and tomorrow is the first fast. You should probably contact a mosque in your area to find out the timings for there.

According to my calendar, Ramadan begins today, Saturday, September 23rd. Also beginning today are Rosh Hashana and Navaratri. Seems to be a great time for holidays.

For reference, here in New York, we began fasting today (Saturday), I'm sure it's the same for Chicago.
Taraweeh begins the day before, I believe.
