What is the view of Christianity on these issues? I ask because, even if it prohibits those things, I've known some Christians who go and get wasted every week, and don't think it's wrong (which is hypocritical), and the same with having sex (premarital), and getting drunk.

first I would like to say, christian are not in the same level or kind of relationship with Jesus Christ, it is a personal relation ship and Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ will change the person from the inside to the outside for the whole world to see the creation from Jesus Christ. Only when Jesus Christ feel the persons can manage and accept the change, not when some one else thinks the person should change to take place. Now about the sex it is between a married man and woman, they remain faithful honest and trust worthy to one another. Drinking alcohol and taking Illegal drugs, can be come like setting a can of gas next to a fire , the possibility it may exploxed causing a raging fire out of control. I hope this was help full.

Some people read John 3:16 and think because they believe in the Lord, they are "saved" from their sins. Matthew 7:21 says that not all who believe in the Lord will receive eternal life, but those who accept Jesus and live a life that is pleasing to the Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. True Christians show their belief in the Lord through their words and actions.

I can't speak for all Christians, only for me and mine. It's not wrong to drink, even get drunk on occasion, but it is wrong to "be like a drunk". If it gets in the way of living, affects your life and your family's life, then it is wrong to do it.

Drugs are pretty much wrong, with the exception of natural drugs. They have their uses.

Premarital sex is a bad idea. There is only one time in your life when you can give the gift of your virginity ... it is a precious thing and shouldn't be wasted in the back of a car with some pimply-faced kid.

Christianity didnt asked one to drink, take drugs or have sex. but it also do not prohibits.

Its more of ones human values rather than religion. Everbody wants to blame religion for they dont follow at all.

Infact everybody follows their human tendencies to drink, or have sex, and how come they blame on religion.

People often mix their human tendencies with religion and blame religion.

I dont think its any wrong in christians spending their time enjoying weekends. Its your view that they are wasting.....Ofcourse premartial sex and getting drunk are bad.

Drinking is okay, getting drunk isn't. Drugs, totally bad, and premarital sex also is bad. Any Christian that says that its okay, or that God doesn't care, He'll forgive me, is a liar, and quite frankly, I wouldn't even consider that person to be a Christian. Christians are not to live in a lifestyle of sin. We are to be holy, or separated from sin. Granted, yes we do still sin, but we stumble and fall into sin. We feel guilty about it, and repent. Any Christian that is okay with getting wasted or having sex outside of marriage or doing drugs, and say that its okay, I'll just ask God to forgive me is just fooling themselves, they have dived right into sin. But worse of all, they think that God will forgive them when they don't repent. They doom themselves into thinking they are Christians when they obviously are not.

Anything that alters your ability to think and use self control is wrong, drinking and drugs included.
Sex before marriage is wrong.
Christianity is following Christ and His teachings.
There are many that profess to be Christian that are not.
Just the same as there are those that carry a Union Card and are not supportive of their Union.
Or those that belong to any group just for the perceived benefits of membership.

1Cor 6:12 "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." - the Apostle Paul

Yes I drink only occasionally, but no, it does not control me. And yes I am engaged and have premarital sex - I've also been divorced which is not what I would have chose for myself. It is an imperfect world and we are imperfect people. But yes, I am still a true believer. My life is not about trying to be perfect anyway. My life is about living in the grace and love of Christ - and He will bring me along as He sees fit.

You fail to understand the Scriptures therefore you err.

Alcohol is not prohibited in the Bible, drunkenness is. The bottom line is this: ANY time you place your mind in an altered state of consciousness, you open yourself up to evil.

Christians sin just like non-believers, some more than others. Of course this is wrong. Drunkenness and getting high are indeed sin. There is absolutely no way to justify their abuse.

We are all human and have the same needs. If you have a personal relationship with the Christ, you must avoid your sin weakness.

Because someone goes to church on Sunday, does not make them a Christian.

I used to council young Christians , usually they had problems when dating church goers who were not under the blood.

The word of God speaks on who are the true believers. By their fruits you will know them.

It might be interesting for you to meet the real ones.

It's hard to condemn people for doing things against their religion. After all, we all sin. However, I am Catholic and I can tell you that Premarital sex is not allowed, You can drink but intoxicaton is not allowed, drugs (illegal) are not allowed. And Catholics don't believe that once you accept Jesus as your savior, you can do anything and go to heaven. We know that he open the gates to Heaven for us, but we have to do our very best to live by the Commandments to get us into Heaven. I hope that very very short tutorial helped.
