Are you also someone who believes that the majority of Muslims are terrorists, the majority of white people are racists, the majority of black people are thugs, etc? Overgeneralizations and stereotyping is one of our major problems in society today.
Ps. Thanks for emailing me and proving how you have no stereotypes and then follow it up by stereotyping me! I appreciate it :o)

You have figured out the truth "beneath" the Christian religion, which is the old story of "DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO." There is very little Christ in Christianity, sort of like there is practically no Christ in Christmas. Christianity, like other religions, DIVIDES people from each other instead of bringing them together. Wherever there is a religion, SOMEBODY is being put down by it, and where there are two or more religions, in addition to putting their own people down they dump on each other, and often open warfare results. Their actions hardly ever follow the ideals of all their pretty words, do they, and therefore millions of people end up suffering..

I understand what you are saying. There are many christians that do not behave in this hypocritical way. The ones that do, are just letting their human nature get the best of them. That doesn't mean that they do not love Jesus or are not sincere in their beliefs, they are just normal. We all think that we are right( even me) and we get upset( even if we don't show it) when others do not agree with us. These hypocritical christians just need a lot of prayer and understanding from other christians and then maybe they can start to change and start to realize what being Christ like is all about.

Then you're almost there! It is essential you put Christ and God before religion. Don't get put off by Christian that don't act Christ-like 24/7. Religion is absolutely necessary for fellowship with other Christians, because truth be told, not all of us are like that. God has NEVER asked Mankind to be perfect, in fact he understood that enough that he sent us Jesus to die for all the "spit" we talk about others along with all the bad we do to others as well. All God asks us to do is try, not succeed, just try, and let the real judging of the heart of Man be left to him.

I just want to applaud you- you are one of the few I have met that does not judge God and reject Jesus because of a fallible sinful people that often misrepresent the name they claim.
I would just urge you to recognize that no one is perfect- there are many they claim Christianity that are not Christians at all and there are others who genuinely desire truth and have a heart for the Lord but are either not aware that certain things they are doing is wrong or they are in bondage to a particular sin and need deliverance. I know I was not a very good example of Christianity the first few years after I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior- and though I have been walking with the Lord for 10 years, I still have my moments. Not a one of us is going to be perfectly Christlike every moment of the day but praise God that His mercies are new every day and He does not leave or forsake us but continues to mold and shape us more and more into His image.
Continue seeking the truth, building your relationship with the Lord and pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ - when they fall, criticism is not edifying , but encourage and build one another up in the Lord.
we are not the perfect image of Christ but a work in progress- thank God for His perfect patience and I pray that he grows that patience and compassion in you.

If you believe in God and in Christ, then you are a Christian - whether you like it or not. A Christian is a follower of Jesus. A Christian lives a life that is pleasing to the Lord. A Christian knows the Word of the Lord, LIVES the Word of the Lord, and shares the Word of the Lord. Just because someone says they are a Christian, doesn't make it true. The Lord knows our hearts. He sees our words and actions. He knows who has truly accepted Jesus as their Savior and who has changed their lives to be pleasing to Him. Live your life the way you know you should and remember that true Christians will enter the kingdom of heaven - not those who simply say they believe (Matthew 7:21).

Unfortunately, hypocrisy seems to be the norm for most religions. I do not go to church because I feel like it has become a place for fashion plates and gossip. I am a Christian but I just read and study the bible on my own and ask God to lead me down the path I need to be on. I think all religions should be respected even if it is different from my personal belief. God is the one who knows our hearts and will be the one to decide who stays and who goes.

some christians just call themselves christians even if they are not
some christians were born christians
some christians are born-again christians
some are evangelical
some are pentecostal
some of them are true christians
(and the rest fall in between)
if you believe in God and Jesus then that might be all you need
(you do not need to be religious or join a religion or even judge somebody else
for that matter)
hypocrites you can find anywhere (inside & outside the church)

wow...you said a mouthful....and the sad thing is that most of what you said is true.....now as for on here...chrisitians are going to say they have found the truth simply because we know we have....that is not being closed minded ..that is just simply telling one what we believe to be the truth......
now for the rest......you may see christians at parties getting trashed and you do see them at church bashing other christians at times......I left my current church due to that same thing.....God talks about us loving and encouraging each other and lifting each other up when we are down or are having a hard trial...but I am like you ...in church I have not seen it ....well if you are rich or important then it is happening for you but if you are common then you are ignored......what is that about...Im glad that isnt how Jesus is.........it is sad...I dont know what is happening to the whole Body of Christ today....but as bad as some are there are some that are true and are not riding the fence so to speak and they have a true love for their Savior.....I have friends such as these and I dont bother anymore with those who know better and still long to hurt and bring down others to make themselves look important and elevated...they know the ways of jesus and if they choose to go against them then they will pay the cost........,we are human and all need forgiveness...but what I ask you is not to judge God by what we do...but judge Him but what he teaches you....then and only then will you know the real truth....who knows you may be the very one that god uses to set His church back in some kind of order as far as learning to have the love of god in them again....the church has been run by man long enough and I believe we are real close to having God take it back......and He Im praying will use those like you who see what needs to be done and have the nerve to speak out in love to the church and lead them back again......alot may disagree with what im saying but what I am seeing in the area I am from I am saddened by it all......time is short and God is talking to us we just need to hear Him call us to a real relationship with Him and then and only then we will love as we should.

You are quite right. Hypocrisy runs high not only in Christianity but in most religions. Remember that religions were created by man not by God. Your relationship with your higher being is personal and you don't need the church to tell you how to have a personal relationship. Man is flawed in all cultures, we have our own likes and dislikes, wants, needs and opinions. Unfortunately, we think highly of our own opinions. Christians like everyone else, think highly of themselves, they think that their relationship to God give them the right to judge others which it doesn't, gives them the right to well, you understand. Do not give up on God just because you can't find a godly person. They will be judged in the end just like the rest of us and their condemnation will be I expect harsher because of their claim to Christ's payment for their sins. They took forgiveness and yet by using His name, their lives put it all in vain.

I see the same things... I am the same thing.. I tell people to be holy for He is holy... But I am not holy... I tell folks not to sin, but I sin... I talk bad on here to the atheists because I honestly believe that they are just on here for some fun...they talk bad to us and we all make fun of the others I. Q. but I do not hate them... as a matter of fact I have developed a kind of a friendship with those that email me (except for one)... I say things just to get them going and see how many I can get riled up... (I think it is a hoot). I also do that with other religions... I only believe that there are two religions in the whole world... I believe there is born again Christianity and Satanism... The refusal of Christ is the acceptance of Anti-Christ... there are really only two definitions and that is "born again" and not... no gray areas, no maybe's, one or the other... We are imperfect, shallow, insensitive, ugly to one-another, and most definately not Christ-like but I think it should be noted that a Christian is not sinless but he agrees he should sinless... Now lets take it to another level... How many hospitals have you seen that bear Christian denominations names? or charities, how many random acts of kindness are done just because??? they are there but do we see them or look for them as hard as we do for the failures? Jesus was not tolerant of other religions, He himself said that "You must be born again", "No man comes unto the Father but by Me" " a mans enemies shall be that of his own household"... Heck I just read the passage today in Luke that talks about the time when Jesus Mom and His Half-brothers thought he had lost his mind and wanted to take Him home to their house... not perfect but we are (or at least should be) growing to ward the mark. But I would like to throw my hat into the ring for the worlds worst sinner title...
