Considering you make it sounds like a choice, I assume you are speaking of a foreign language (and not english).
As far as useful for a future career I would say the arabic languages and perhaps spanish would be useful... but they don't usually offer farsi at the locally intermediate school...
So, I'd say that taking ANY second language would be useful. Because they say that having/obtaining the ablility to learn a second language makes it easier to pick up another. So that when you leave highschool and decide that a certain other language will help you in your life, it won't be as much of a struggle to learn.

It depends. Are you planning on using it for a future career? Will it involve international relations? Do you want to import wine from Italy? Do you want to be a doctor? These are what you want to think of before you ask us. Latin would be better for Science, and if you are planning on learning more than one Romantic language. Spanish would be better if you live in the US and are working there. The other languages would be better if you are planning on doing business internationally, and you know what country you would want to work with.

If you're American, Spanish. If you speak another language, then English.
A note: having worked both as a lawyer and as an RN, the lack of schooling in Latin didn't slow me up in either career. You pick up the lingo as you go along.

English.
As for foreign languages, it depends on what you would like to do with your life.
If you want a good job in the USA, I would take spanish. It will be very beneficial with the increase of Mexican imigrants.
If you want to work in the north, or in Canada, French would be good, becuase French is Canada's official language, along with english.

I would say Spanish? I take Spanish and it really helps. I tried taking French but only used it when I went to Canada. Go figure. Spanish is so much cooler!
