To me, there is no difference. They are just about equivocal.
However, personally, I prefer Scott because I don't know any Scotts that are jerks.

Mark is better. Scott sounds like a child's name.

If your name is Scott, it's better to be called Scott, otherwise all the Christamas presents marked for Scott will go to Mark, and vice-versa

umm well you should go by whichever name you perfer, however if it is someone that you work with or something that's calling you by the wrong name you should simply correct them, if they continue to call you by the wrong name lift your hand and give them a nice hard b*tch slap across the face, they'll get your name right the next time, if you arre simply looking to hide behind a new name, though, i think you should go with mark, simply because every scott i have ever met has been a scumbag...where as many of the marks i have met seem to more interesting and fun to be around....

I like both names. Mark sounds nicer though. Scott sounds like a dog's name to me.

My two sons are named Scott and Mark!
They are both great names, I would think Scott is slightly better because it's a "cooler" name and also not very common.
