Ethically, there is nothing wrong. Be on the safe side and make certain that both your parents and hers are in favor of you two dating. If either are against it, without regard to their reasons, then don't press the issue. Be aware of local laws regarding appropriate activity. You don't want your new girlfriend going to jail. If you refrain from questionable activity, you should be OK regardless. It really helps if your parents consent to the relationship.

if the parents disapprove sense and call the cops on the 17 year old by law even if nothing is done hanging out because under 16 is under age good news is once u hit 16 nothing parents can do about hanging out only if it goes further

You could go out with her, however, I must warn you that if an older girl likes you she is probably just trying to use you to make someone jealous, but if she truly likes you then you might have a great relationship.

sure whats 2 years ?? only a couple of years between you that sounds alright to me. and in todays world age dont make a difference any more. go for it if your both maaature enough than i see no reason not to date each other..
