Today was rainy and my dog was getting a bit muddy when 3 people showed up with their dogs. They were dressed as if they had been to church (it was Saturday though) and I worried that my dog would jump up on them, but she didn't. I asked if they were new to the park and they asked how I knew so I told them that most people wear old clothes and they were lucky my dog was being so good.

It was a family of 2 adults and one kid. I doubt they were trying to pick up anyone. We chatted very nicely and I gave them some tips because a lot of the time there are up to 30 dogs there and I wanted them to be prepared next time so they could have a good experience taking their dogs there.

lol How funny. Maybe they are used to dogs that are obedient. Any dog show you go to everybody is dressed up. We simply have dogs that are obedient and sometimes take for granted that everyone's dog is as well. Guess that's never true with pet people though. "sigh"

To try to attract other people- for dates maybe? My sister used to live in an area where there was a local dog park and people would flirt and exchange numbers- It doesn't seem like a typical place to find "the one" but It is a place where you can meet someone who already has a specific interest that pertains to others! plus maybe they are mental- mud, dogs, grass, and slobber are no place to wear your sunday bests!

And you are 'all that and a bag of chips with dog park knowledge', eh? Aren't you just the best pet owner? Who cares what people wear to the dog park? Your dog is not supposed to jump on people even if they are in jeans and a t-shirt! Who named you the queen of the dog park to tell people how to dress??? SHEESH! I wouldn't blame them if they never came back. Dogs are the bomb! Their owners, however.............!

some people just dont know any better and i think others are afraid their dogs look better than them if they dress in old clothes.

I guess they don't notice what their putting on!! Or they just came back from work or something and just picked up their dog quick and had no time to change. (Or the forgot.).
