It's all just fictional beliefs so do what you want - they don't mean anything.

Mark 2:23-28 (NIV)

One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. 24 The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”

25 He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? 26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”

27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

The Ten Commandments sound bad because of the word "command" in it. I would call them the Ten Very Important Guidelines You Want To Try Your Best To Keep If You Are Looking To Be Known As A Child Of God. That may have meant more than two tablets for Moses though, but it would have done us a lot of good in this day and age, and saved some of the confusion over them.

The New Testament does not mention keeping the Sabbath Holy for Christians. All of the other 9 commands are in the New Testament as commands or as examples for us.

Jesus said "if you love me, keep my commandments." There are 613 laws in the books of the law - methinks the CHANGELESS God didn't write all them laws to have them done away with eventually. They are good laws, not some restriction put on us by a frowning, grumpy old cur. They are for our good!

The Sabbath is reiterated in Hebrews 4 where is says "there remains a [sabbath] rest for the people of God"

Hope that helps.

Respek.

We do not have to keep the ten commendments speicifically, but if we follow what Jesus commends, then we will inevitably end up doing what they say, and avoiding what they say to avoid. Because the Sabbath was under the Mosaic Law as well, and this Law Covenant was fulfilled by Jesus, thus being unneaccesary for salvation, we do not need to keep the Sabbath either.

The new covenant church authoratatively re-adopted and re-authorized the commandments, and made a few adjustments, which reflect the nature of God's new covenant, one of which was Sunday sabbath observance.

While largely unknown in Protestant circles today, Jesus founded only one church and gave authority to it, not to the Bible.

It was the church that testified to the sacred truths of scripture. It wasn't the other way around.

We follow the commandments today as they are authoratatively defined by God's one, true, and universal church.

Since Christians are not under the Law of Moses today (only Jews ever were), we are not under the Ten Commandments written in the Law. Christians today are to follow Jesus Christ. Since He Himself reinstated all but one of the Ten Commandments (the Sabbath), Christians are obligated to obey nine of the Ten Commandments.

God intended Christianity to be a Branch that is grafted to the olive tree of Judaism. Jesus said we are to follow the commands He has given, which the Father has given Him. Thus" Do not think I have come to abolish the Law of the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."(Matt.5:17). Jesus came to give the same offer to the world that was offered to the Jews. read the parable of the wedding Banquet (Matt.22:1-14) "For who ever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother." (Matt.12:50)

No. The 10 comandments are history. If people are under the law, that means they don't believe in Jesus.
