I had surgery over four years ago, and I am now getting a great deal of pain, discomfort, and belching. I have been told that I should have surgery again, to remove the little (gallbladder) pouch that was left after surgery. What's up with that? I can't even eat anymore, because it's too painful, and the burping is very embarrassing!

That seems a little odd. You might want to speak with your doctor or even the surgeon that removed your gallbladder about it. I had my gallbladder removed last October and the burping went away about a month afterwards -- normally that's just your body getting rid of the gas from the expansion of your stomach from the actual surgery, but 4 years is way too long for that to still be occuring and something else could be wrong by now.

If you can't eat and it's painful you need to contact your doctor to ensure something else isn't wrong. Hope this helps you!

I had an attack and I told them no they were not taking mine. I know from reading and other people like my Mom that after the gallbladder was removed they feel even worse. If your gallbladder has been removed there are a lot things you can no longer eat or you will be in pain. Like fat & seeds and nuts.Your gallbladder helped you to digest it, without your body has to try. Also I was just reading that even though your gallbladder was removed you can still get stones from your liver. So it is no great fix the gallbladder removal surgery and it seems it is a very necessary organ.
