You can tell if your guy doesn't want to date you anymore when he 1)starts eyeing other girls, 2)loses interest in your conversations, 3)does sneaky **** behind your back and you find out about it through someone else, 4)doesn't hang out around you as much, 5)the chemistry is lost.

You'll know if the only thing he wants is sex and otherwise could care less how little time you spent together or what you did together. The only reason he hasn't left you is because he hasn't found a new sex partner yet.
If you cut off sex, you'll know within days if he still wants to date you or not.

If it suddenly feels like you're working too hard at the relationship and there's no return...then most likely he's cooling off.
I know it sucks, but I've seen it happen to one of my friends and that's exactly how she described it. She said it started to feel more like work then a friendship or relationship.

He will pretty much ignore you. He may talk to you in person, but he won't call you or return your text messages.
