Actually, I want to use this for other things as well, like cooking vegetables in small quantities and boiling water. Please don't suggest I use something like plastic in the microwave or stainless steel or aluminum on the stovetop. I really like preparing food in glass and the simplicity and speed of the microwave.

Try search for microwave coffee pot at ebay.

I think a drip pot with thermos carafe is better. If it cools down too much, put it in a regular cup and microwave 60-90 seconds.

For regular cooking it is hard to beat the visions cookware line. Look for that at ebay as well.

Purchase a thermal carafe that keeps your coffee hot for several hours. Right after you brew your pot pour it into the carafe and you don't have to worry about the microwave and reinventing the coffee. There are some that will keep coffee hot for 10 hours. I personally wouldn't want to drink it but it will be hot.
