don't get me wrong, I LOVE metal, and consider myself pretty open musically (rock musician) but some of the lyrics and concepts even I find over the top! it was me that introduced her to this so it's a bit hypocritical to now say, "this is bad, don't listen to it" any (serious) advice welcome. (and i will come down like a ton of bolts on anyone who takes the p**s!)...that's asking for it!! lol

Well come on down like a ton of bolts. It usually takes a freak to make a freak. The answer is simple , stop being what you don't want your children to be and start being what you want them to be.Another words tell them your sorry and show it as well. You will be glad you did . You will always reap what you sow.And if your like I was it might not hurt to look at a few other things , prayer helps to.I will be praying for you and yours.Your a good father for asking. Now I have a question , aren't you being a hypocrite by not admitting to the wrong you done when you gave her this CD ?

we are all metal fans in the house .. my hubby , myself and the kids
but i do monitor what my kid listens to
so we make up a compelation of tracks for her that we think are ok for her to listen to
this way she can listen to some cradle but only those we have put on the disk for her
we are brutally honest with her and tell her why we do so ... and she appreciates why we do it
some of their stuff is way over the top and i would not let her have their albums ... but no harm in the odd song that isnt rude or crude
she is 15

please bring back cornholio

haha thank you .. cracks me up

Parents have got to stop worrying about being hypocritical. If you made a mistake by giving it to her and now you think it's inappropriate for her to listen to, you have every right to tell her that you don't want her to listen to it anymore. Just tell her you made a mistake.
