Please, be honest with me… it will be a great help. Thank you

Congratulations on finding a true love. The fact that after a 3yr courtship, you have accepted his marriage proposal, and are willing to relocate to the U.S.(leaving behind your family and friends) lets me know that you must care for him deeply. Yes, you will have to deal with racism. You will face it with the African-Americans and your own race, and he will face it with his own race and from the Mexican community. Then both of you, together, will face racism from everyone else. It's a sad ,cold hearted, fact. You will experience it in one form or another, no matter where you live tho. What you need to ask yourself is, are the two of you prepared to deal with it. If your love for one another is strong enough, then by all means go for it. Just remember that you will be without your family and friends. Your fiance will be all that you have to rely on for awhile until you can meet people and make new friends. If you love each other enough, then you will be able to face life's hardships and overcome just about anything. Good Luck in what ever you decide. Peace2U

I really wouldn't expect too much racism, however, I was raised pretty liberally. My boyfriend was raised to believe that people should marry within their own race (which is pretty funny considering he's a little mixed himself). I wouldn't expect a whole lot of racism, but then again it does depend on the area you live in. If you want to make sure, you should probably scout out areas together and judge the reactions of the people around you. I'm sorry that this is still a problem, but I should hope that it is better than what it was. This is also as honest as I can be and I hope I haven't offended you.

I'm afraid it could depending on where you live. What I see here is that others come from other countries and end up living in communities of the same race. I think it causes problems for you. Live in an area that is diverse. I do believe that folks here in Minnesota are more tolerant of mixed races. Work is good here, weather isn't so great in the winter, but I like it and I'm from Miami originally. If you love each other, and are committed to each other, you should be together. hugs

There are racist people every where. Blacks against whites, whites agains blacks, both against latinos....hey it's life. Now you're getting married to an african american....shouldn't be an issue depends on where you live. Some states are more racist than others. Try not to live in an extremely conservative state. The big thing now un the US is illegal immigrants, so if you come here make sure you do it the right way....and no marrying her will not give you an american citizenship.

I asked this very question and got quite some flak about it. I wasn't trying to sound racist ,but I asked if blacks and Mexicans ever marry?
I had answers that in Texas it was common.
I have not ever as of yet met a couple, I live in the middle of Nebraska.

while you're black people will stare at you in Mexico, yet they gained't manage you poorly purely given which you're black. you will receive the comparable scientific care, sturdy or undesirable, that each and every person foreigners receive. sure the administrative. requieres a civil ceremony for it to be criminal. Clergy can not "legally" carry out marriage ceremonies in Mexico. a marriage may well be as much less extreme priced by way of fact the fee of paying the expenses or as high priced as you need to make it. I actual have been at weddings which could have fee 50,000 funds. you will could fill out some varieties and pay some expenses to teh government. to gte permission to marry here. inore #3 in then link under. it incredibly is barely for Mexico city.

People are ignorant all over the globe.
You will run into this problem no matter where in the world you live. If you are aware of that and prepared for it, then the two of you should have no problem carrying on with your lives.

if you're really worried move to a state that is really diverse like new jersey, california or florida. i'm asian and i live here in jersey, i don't think(or i like to believe) that racism is that big of an issue anymore. i'm not saying that there won't be any racists. but i think that you can deal with it. if i can, you sure as hell can.

you might get a couple of racist people glaring at you. you may also get some people answering your question with rude comments. but what people don't understand is this is 2006 and who cares what my skin color is as long as i have a good heart and i am going to treat you right. because when we die we won't have skin at all so whats the point?
good luck!

mexican and black? i think you will experience very little racism, altho it exists everywhere you go. mexican and black is more accepted than white and black, if you know what i mean. so honestly, i think you two will be just fine. congrats on the upcoming marriage!
