thanks for the advice, i appreciate it. the pound told us she is 3 months, but anyhting is possible. we have tried wet and dry food, and she walks away from both. she did eat like a bite of kibble the first day we brought her home...The people at the pound said to put the food on the rought of her mouth to trigger her scenses since they are all clogged, but everytime i get close to her mouth, she runs... ( cant say i blame her). she only ways 2.3 pounds... i dunno, i will try kitty formula, or the baby food, i just dont want to make her worse by feeding her what she shouldnt have

my mom took care of some kittens whose mom died once, used an eyedropper to feed them milk. They all did fine and went to solid food soon enough. If your trying to get it to eat solid food let the food soak up some milk so its easy to chew.

There is a canned food called A/D (Science Diet?). It is available at your vet's office. Most animals will eat this. If an animal doesn't eat for a while, it's usually an indication that the animal is not feeling well. Vets are human and make mistakes. I have had a couple over the years misdiagnose a couple of my animals. If the kitten is still not eating, I would think about seeking a second opinion.
How long has she not been eating? The drinking a lot of water is a good sign.

hi , i used to work at an animal shelter in michigan..... whenever i adopted a cat i always gave the new owner a supply of the food the animal was being fed....and would tell them to gradually mix in a good.... type cat food..... sometimes it can even be the texture that keeps the kitten from feeding...... but, i did find that almost all cats would eat the purina "mixed grill" but only as a treat not everyday........the good sign is that the cat is drinking water!!! everyone thinks that milk is soooo good for cats.... kittens maybe but, only to help get the feeding process going....... a treat to say the least....keep the portions small....... a tightly closed fist is the most a kittens stomach can hold......don't fill a bowl as it's harder to check on the amount and the time the kitten is eating...do your homework as a responsible kitten owner.....

Try gerbers strained chicken or beef baby food in the jars, also canned cat food might work. If the kittens nose is stopped up and it cannot breathe well out of its nostrils then it won't smell the food and won't have the urge to eat. Clean out it's nostrils and then try feeding. You might have to put some food in it's mouth a few times to get it going again. Good Luck. If it does not eat it may need some fluids. Call your vet again.

Milk is not generally reccommened for cats as it upsets their digestive tracts. Try a little wet cat food or tuna in a shallow dish or on a plate... a 3 month old cat should be able to eat dry food though. Perhaps the kitty's food dish is too deep and he just can't reach in? My cat had this problem when we first got him because he was so little.

When it is hungry enough it will eat. Maybe try doing some bottle feeding, canned (moist) cat food or even try putting a little tiny bit of butter on a couple of pieces of its dry food (not much you dont want the squirts).

You aren't supposed to give cats/kittens milk. Are you sure it is 3 months.??? You may have to feed the kitten. Try some tender vittles or some moist cat food and feed it by mouth yourself....It may also be in pain after surgery...try giving it some pedialyte that you give babies since it has vitamins... good luck...

You may want to try kitten formula in a pet bottle just until your kitten is feeling better then slowly re-introduce wet then dry food to him. Good luck!
BTW kitten formula is much different from cow's milk and that is not recommended for any cat.

If she has a cold, her sense of smell may be off. Try giving her some way el cheapo canned catfood, in a fish flavor. Really, the smell is then strong enough to get through her poor clogged sinuses. (Think how well you can smell things when you have a cold!) Don't do too much of that though, it's really not nutritious, but it might get her to start eating.

Hmmmm.. and I thougt your question was about how to get MORE kittens for YOU to eat...
just give it some fresh milk about every 2 or 3 hours and when it gets ready it will start drinking it...
our cats did not eat for about a day and a half after being "broken"

My puppy wouldn't eat his HARD food, was she just seperated from her family? Thats what happened to my dog, and he was so upset. If the food is hard switch to wet. If the food is wet put PART dry. Best of wishes to you and your itty bitty kitty, hope it eats soon!
