The soul and the spirit are the synonymous terms in the New Testament. The only place in scripture where it could be construed that they are referring to two seperate divisions of the metaphysical aspect of man is in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (?), and that is pretty shaky grounds for basing ones trichotomic views.

When people speak of Jesus' spirit, they are not referring to his non-physical presence, but the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised would remain with His followers.

Hope that helps.

Respek.

It really all depends on your religious pov. If you believe in the trinity and believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are 3 yet 1, then you would probably not think that Jesus, by himself has a soul. These groups may be refering to the Holy Spirit when they speak but may not be phrasing it quite the way they should. But...if you believe that Jesus was a man and not God in flesh, then you would have to believe that Jesus has a soul himself, that is, if you believe that human beings have souls, themselves.
So, yeah, it's pretty much all perspective. I hope this helps.

I think spirit and soul are different-they mean different things. Spirit is the animating quality. Soul is the quality of possession of a portion of the universal being. Jesus' soul is a part of the being of God-just as all human souls are-the soul of Jesus was a perfected portion of God's soul and therefore is now one with God.

Some believe that Jesus is GOD in flesh, others believe that Jesus is a Piece of GOD who became a man because GOD(the father) asked Him to. Either way GOD is Spirit, and thus so is Jesus.
