Aleve. Works better than Pamprin and Midol. You'll wonder why you've never tried it before.

Right there with you!!! I don't know what causes the pain but it is there! I have an inverted uterus??? I have been told this may be part of the problem since it is leaning toward the back? Sometimes it hurts to even lay down!!! I have been taking B12, evening primrose oil as well as Omega 3-6-9. They are all said to help relieve pain, swelling, crabbieness and all the other fun stuff that comes along with being a women. I have noticed some relief but unfortunately nothing completly takes it away. These are not short term but something you would introduce into your diet daily to help relieve the symptoms. I used to be on a Motrin diet for most of the week and I have not had to do that either for the past couple of months. You should do some reading on Evening Primrose and the B vitamins. They have many more benefits but do help. It is a whole lot better than Motrin that is for sure. myvitacost.com has a lot of information if you type it into the search area. They also have the best prices on vitamins. A good hot bath with a glass of wine is always a good temporary fix. Good luck I hope you find some relief.

It really stinks top have that kind of pain when it is bad enough that we have periods to begin with!!! Oh, there are many joys to being a woman, however, I don't find this to be one of them. You are going to want to talk to your OBGYN because it could be something more serious than a normal period cramp. You could have pelvic congestion, aydenomyosis, endodemtriosis, syatica...it all depends if this is your only symptom. Don't leave anything out, and if you really want to be prepared, you should go online and enter your symptoms on web.md so that it may bring up a few possibilties for you so that you aren't in the dark when you go to the doctor yourself. It is always difficult having to deal with a pain that you cannot identify. If you can't get an appointment right away, there are steps that you can take. Aleve contains Naprosyn, which is an anti inflammatory so it will help to at least releive the pain that you are feeling. I myself have at least two of the above disorders, and I find that it works wonders for me, and believe me, they are painful. Also, if you have a heating pad or even a corn bag (an old sock filled with rice works too), lay it across your back and lie down on your side. Before getting out of bed before your period comes and you start getting these symptoms, do some leg stretches, and stretch from one side to another. Sit up with ease, and don't do a whole lot of heavy lifting and bending. Herbal teas also help, health food stores have ones that are specifically desinged for PMS and PPMS. I hope that this info helped, and I would like to tell you that I am not a health care professional, I have just spend many, many hours on the computer researching because it took two years for me to diagnose the pain. Catch it while it is still in the early stages, because it can, and probably will get worse. Good Luck and God Bless.

This is called 'the curse'. It gets a mention in the bible. God has cursed women and they must suffer. Rejoice in your womanhood. Your period will always balance you. Try not to get so out of balance each month. The best thing you can learn to do is channel the energy created by the pain into some type of creative outlet such as art or music. Ideally it will an undertaking which which will benefit the greater good of society. For example you could write a song called " I've got the Menstrual Cramp Blues". If it became famous you would bring a sense of international camaraderie & healing for all women who suffer from Gods curse.

Aww that stinks. It is usually caused be blood clots (totally normal) however if you feel something isnt right see an OB.
When this happens I use a heating pad on my back, legs and stomach. Wherever the pain is it helps to thin the blood relieving pain. If that doesnt work try a hot bath. Good luck.

Not sure how old you are, but ask you doctor about going on the pill, if you aren't already. There are many variations of the pill right now that are very low dosage and can be extremely helpful in controlling cramps as well as duration of your period. I have endometriosis, and I was started on the pill at about age 17. It actually can prevent endometrial and ovarian cancer. You do not have to be sexually active to take the pill. Hope this helps.

Talk to your obgyn about it and see what can be done. Most ob's will recommend Aleve (Naproxen Sodium). Talk to your doctor to see if it's safe for you and to find out what the maximum amount is that you can safely take.

The same happens to my mom. I wouldn't worry about it unless it hurts really badly. Try going to the doctor if you want to know what's going on.
