no, it may make it worse.
I suggest a vet visit for an aged dog with an extended bout of diarrhea. You can also try ground pumpkin (canned). that may also firm up the stool, but I would want to know why the dog is ill, not just fix the symptoms, so that means a vet visit.

A vet will help a geriatric dog with diarrhea. Please take her now if you haven't already. Two days is a long time for a dog that age to have this problem.
Good luck!

I have a 130# rottie, that sometimes has the runs. The vet told me to use plain vanilla yogurt mixed with bran flakes. It works every time, feed it 2 times a day until cured. With my dog we use about a cup and a half per feeding, adjust for your dog. BUT if it countines for for any more than 2-3 more days see the vet.

As cows milk can kill dogs - I would have thought that yoghurt would also be very bad for them. It still has the undigestible lactose in it. It could be especially bad for a dog as old as yours. Take her to the vets as there must be a reason she's sick. Make sure she's getting plenty of fluids, as she can easily dehydrate with diarrhoea. I hope she gets better soon - 15 is a wonderful age for any dog to reach.

Your dog is very old now. You need to be careful what you feed it. If it has diarrhea for 2 days, it could dehydrate and die. I suggest you take the dog to the vet.She may be close to going to doggie heaven..sorry,,,

You may want to check with your vet. I know it helps my horses when they get diarrhea, so it may help your dog. I hope she feels better soon.

You can give your dog a tablespoon of Kaopectate, or any kind of over the counter anti-diarrheal, its safe, and most likely they will lick it off the spoon.
