Babies & toddlers should always drink full fat milk. Health professionals say that once they're aged two AND providing they have a good balanced diet, they can move on to Semi Skimmed milk. Although I would recommend staying on Full Fat. It's important because babies especially need a certain amount of fat in their diets so the brain and nervous system develops properly. Younger children get most of their much needed calories from full fat milk. Alot of parents give their children semi skimmed milk - I think as a result we're breeding unhealthy, weight conscious children!

Whole Milk is best. Most pediatricians agree that whole milk should be given to a child until at least 2 years of age. It offers the correct nutrients to help with brain development and all around good health. Other types of milk - skim, 2%, etc. have too much protein or sodium which can put a strain on a babies immature kidneys. Breast milk or formula is recommended until 1 year and after that whole milk. However, my pediatrician said that I could begin giving my daughter small amounts of whole milk at 9 months - a cup or so a day. Just to get her used to it, but I still continued with her breastfeedings as well and I didn't give it to her every day.

Between the ages of 1 and 2 your baby should be on whole milk. They need the fat to help with brain development. After, doctors suggest switching to low fat(1%) milk.

when a baby gets to 1yr old they can drink full fat milk. Semi skimmed milk is no good for them. They need all the stuff from full fat milk (and it tastes waaaaaay better!)

Up until the age of at least two, children should always eat full fat milk. The same goes for yoghurts and other foods. A child requires full fat versions of dairy products etc. These are required for the growth of their bones.

Full fat! AT this age the fat is very important for many neurological developments. I learned this when my 18 month old needed physical therapy, and they checked to make sure I giving her full fat milk.

It's best for a baby to be on breast or formula until the age of 1. Then, whole milk until two. You don't have to worry about them becoming too fat at that age. Whole milk is very healthy for their little systems.

It's absolutely okay! Especially when their that young. Your pediatrician will inform you when to stop regular milk and start 1%,2% milk etc.....
They need fat in their diet (healthy fat of course) milk provides calcium for their bones to help their growth. It's always important to consult your child pediatrician when it comes to their health. If you don't feel comfortable to ask question, then perhaps move on. I went through several pediatrician before truly feeling comfortable asking and getting the right response to my concerns when it came to my children.
NO questions is every "silly" when it involves our kids!!

Best of luck, I hope I was able to help.
