I wouldn't necessarily say he is smarter than other dogs, probably better trained. My weimaraner can do these things too, with the excpetion of jumping through a hoop, (haven't tried that yet,) and stay, (unless there's food involved.) She can also tell the difference between her rawhide and her Kong toy; if you ask her to bring you one she will bring you the correct one. I think all dogs are capable of learning a lot of "tricks" and behaviors that suite their, and their owners, needs. If you have time to spend with your dog teaching them these tricks and rewarding appropriate behaviors they exhibit, they will learn to repeat them and do them on command. I guess it just means you're able to spend a lot of quality time with your dog, which is great!

I would say that he is no more intelligent than any other dog. He is only better trained than most.

I'd say your dog is intelligent. Someone had to teach it that, they are not born that way. Smart dog.
