My fiancée & I are looking to escape home (UK) to get married - mainly so we don't have to deal with people.
Our main ideas for wedding destinations are New Zealand & Europe (France & alpine regions especially), but are struggling to find comprehensive, cohesive information as to the differing laws, requirements & costs.
Basically a useful pointer would be really beneficial - I know there are numerous companies out there that provide the tailored services, but these come at a premium that two skint(ish) people would rather avoid.

I'm getting married in Vegas in December this year. We booked with Thomas Cook and our wedding package was £250 - bargain!

We obviously booked our honeymoon their too, but if you are looking to do everything yourselves without paying a lot, then why not look on-line for flights and accommodation? Expedia are reasonably priced, depending on the type of accommodation you are looking for.

We are getting married at The Little Chapel of the Flowers, there is a detailed list of their available packages on-line.

Doing it through Thomas Cook has been really easy though. All I've had to do is buy my dress - they did the rest!

LAS VEGAS, drive thru, or on the top of the Stratosphere Hotel, basically anyplace in that area offers something for everyone! depends on your budget but its cheap as hell and you'll never forget it! So much to do and you'll not be in debt forever! Best place ever to marry and you needn't spend a fortune on the overpriced crap they offer here!

And dont bother ith travel agents, they'll rip you off! Get a flight direct through the airline (BMI - best one and direct flight!) and book your room direct with the hotel online! A cab to your hotel wont cost you more than $20 and the places are so cool, cheap and you' ll be fantastically looked after!

Don't get married. It's a trap. Instead, spend your money you intend to use for your wedding and honeymoon, and get a really cool motorcycle, two dogs, and some baseball cards. 50% of marriages end in divorce. You'd be much happier in the long run with the items listed above.

Actually, those things would make me really happy. Can you buy them for me? It would make a great wedding present for me and my fiancee....Jennifer Love Hewitt.

A lot of people these days are getting married in Ireland. I'd maybe check that out. Beautiful green rolling hills.
