Until the sight. Hasta meaning until. La vista meaning sight. Equivalent of "see you later" in English". vista originates from the latin word visum. Sorry don't know where hasta comes from.

It's Spanish for "Until later" which can also be translated "See you later." It literally means "Until we see each other again." And the correct spelling is "Hasta la vista."

Hasta la vista doesn't mean "see you later" , it means "see you next time". Hasta luego means "see you later".

The literal word for word meaning is "until the sight" which basically means, until I see you next time. In turn, it really means "See you later."
