I think you've answered your own Q!! If you can't say yes without hesitation then the answer should really be no. If you loved him you'd ride out this situation, something is not right if you both didn't discuss this anyway. It would be kinder to let him go if you don't really want him, now is the opportunity for you both to move on. Make a decision and stick with it, don't hurt him or give him false hopes unnecessarily as he has enough with making a fresh start.

The fact that he did not consult you is the deal breaker. It shows where his priorities lie. If you had discussed it and he did it I would say stay, but he apparently did not seem to care enough to ask how you felt about it before he made the decision. I am sorry for your hurt, but move on, you can find someone who will put you first.

Your decision was right and very brave. In the long run, relationships are hard enough to hold together these days, without the added pressures of being in completely different places. Of course you miss him, but he's moving on. So must you.

I cant believe u went out this long and didn't communicate. sounds like he needed the time to think about your relationship. I have more in depth conversations with a stranger. You either can go on and live your life, and put this behind u. or sit at home and wait on him to call. If he did call would he speak to u at all.

just keep in touch as good friends - you can move on with new friends too.. cos 3.5 years is a long time and people change. So just see how things pan out..

Painful, but you did the right thing seeing as he didn't even tell you about this rather major job and move! What else would he not tell you about?

if he didn't consult you then you did the right thing. you could still stay in contact to see what happens. but in reality it wasnt a very serious relationship was it

i don't think that he needed to consult you about taking a job. he needs to work like everyone else. maybe you should try going with him and seeing how things work out. If you love him its worth it to try to make it work in anew city.

you went about that wrong and you are being selfish. be glad that he's even got a job, a good one. now you want to make it hard for him by dumping him after this great news. if you love him so much, work it out!
