why do people here want to turn Mexico as an enemy of the U.S.?
I hear people saying here that "Mexico is invading our country so therefore we need to retaliate with military force". Ofcourse we all know that Mexico would not go to war with the worlds greates military might, however dont you think that Mexico which is STILL an ally of the U.S. would just turn around and support Hugo Chavez and other countries that hate America?
Ist it wise for people here to be just spreading so much hatred towards Mexican people legal or not?

ZOE, there you go with your made up stories and lies again. By the way, I only understood half of your question since you started talking like if you were with your friends. Sorry, but my focus is on learning new, actual, real information to have informative points of views instead of learning a "Trailer thr. type of Lingo".

KATSLUVER, HERE YOU GO AGAIN WITH ASSUMPTIONS ON "THE LEGAL AMERICAN WITH MEXICAN HERITAGE" DOES NOT SUPPORT EXTREME MEASURES TO SUPPORT THE "ILLEGAL" IMMIGRATION. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT IM LEGAL OR NOT? SINECE IM AND ALSO BORN AND RAISED IN MEXICO, BEG TO DIFFER ON YOU ASSUMPTION. YOURE TALKING HERE TO THE REAL VOICE OF A MEXICAN NATIONAL AND IM TELLING YOU THAT YOURE WRONG. YOUR MISINFORMED AND THEREFORE BELIEVING ALL THAT MISINFORMATION PUTS YOU IN AN OPPOSITE CATEGORY FROM JACKIE.

You're right, Mexico will never go to war with the USA, and vice versa. They need each other mutually Many people don't realize that Mexico is very rich and has a billion dollar economy and is one of America's top trading partners. Pres. Bush knows this, and so do other politicians, but they need to pretend to their racist voters that they are against illegal immigration, and especially Mexicans. To who the money in Mexico goes?? I don't know. And yes, it's not in the best interest of Americans to be so hateful towards Mexico, because they might side with Hugo Chavez, and many others who alr eady hate the U.S.

Your question is almost a lightly veiled threat. If it would be in the best interest to aligned its self with Venezuela ,there is nothing that this country could do to stop that from happening. Although Mr. Chavez has a big mouth and an even bigger ego,hes not much different than Bush.Except that Chavez has very distinct Marxist leanings while the cowboyish Bush believes in democracy. It would not be to Mexico's advantage to
turn its back on the US.We can be a nations best friend or its worse nigh mare.Neither country desires war ,or even a civil uprising, but America has every right to make sure her borders are secure, from all .Mexico can do what ever Mexico wishes as can the US.We will protect this country and we will secure its borders. If you
think that this country will bow down to threats or black mail ,you are mistaken. The legal American of Mexican heritage as a whole does not support any extreme measure from Mexico to force the US to allow the illegals to swarm into this country.Perhaps you are misjudging your base of support. It may not be quite as solid as you have been led to believe.
But as always I have faith in the US to handle anything that comes our way,we are far more united that people think.I would never under estimate the convictions of the every day American.

Why are all the Mexican people trying so hard to leave their homeland of Mexico ? They are coming into this country by the thousands. Are they being driven out ? It is sad to see Mexicans fleeing their own country and I wonder why ? Are they being threatened ? Does Hugo Chavez have lots of strong hold on the Mexican people and is that why so many Mexican people want to get out ? Mexico is our South Neighbor and just until recently Mexicans are trampeling on us. Why ?? If they respected American's, they would enter the LEGAL way. But the way the emmigrants are doing it, it is totally wrong. You said other countries hate America!! WHY ? Good grief, we have helped all of the countries. Our Military force can handle the Mexican invasion, If Mexican's would rather go further South, then that is up to them. The reason they don't want to go to Hugo Chavez is because they would live in Hell !! I wonder if the reason so many poor Mexicans are fleeing North, is because has Chavez already gotten a strong hold on Mexico ???
I feel sorry for the Mexican people as they seem desperate to get out of Mexico. WHY ??

Hugo Chavez is standing up and I'm quite sure the majority of the UN nations are silently cheering him on. He's a bit crazy, but he does have some truth. The US needs his oil and he's happy about that. My Venezuelan friends say that their cheap oil isn't helping them put food on the table. A quote from a teacher, "If we could drink the cheap oil, parties would be much more festive!" Venezuela has major issues and their leader may cause them further problems.

No one is going to 'retaliate with military force' except against 'military force'.
And I agree we want good relations with Mexico. I think that should be doable without ruining our children's futures, though. If it isn't, we just might have to accept the prospect of a Chavez ally at our door. Some things are the REASON you fight.

As Jackie says, Mexico is a very rich nation, and could well afford to build up its own infrastructure and create jobs, if they weren't so goddamn corrupt ...
Mexico will not become an enemy of the United States whether people are pro or anti the illegal immigrants from Mexico ... Mexico does not want them back, they want the money they send back though ... and the U.S. corporations benefit from disposable cheap labor ...
Neither of our govts give a fig about their own citizens and their opinions, and neither govt gives a fig about the welfare of immigrants, legal or otherwise ... big corporations rule, and what we think about Mexicans, legal or otherwise, isn't going to change things one iota ....

The people buying this line of bull "Mexico is our enemy, etc.." are the same ones that are completely blind to true politics. It is a complete smoke screen so we don't have to think about the fact that we ARE AT war with a REAL country! They don't have to muddle their thoughts with ugly truths such as Halliburton, OIL, and the real reasons we are in the Middle East. Do a search on Social Security and Immigration or inflation and immigration and you will see why the talking heads on your favorite news shows will pay lip service to the "immigration problem", but there is no way we will have any administration that will do anything about it.

Hugo Chavez does not hate America or it's people. He hates our screwed up leaders. We aren't trying to spread hatred towards Mexicans either. We just want them to respect our laws and our borders. And I have seldom if ever seen anyone on here stupid enough to suggest going to war with the country of Mexico. We just want their people to go home and come here legally. We can't take all who want to come. Has it ever occurred to you that illegal immigration is hurting people's chances for LEGAL immigration?

I am not worried about Hugo Chavez in the least. To be a leader, you must inspire respect among your own people and those you have dealings with. Probably one of the reasons Jorge has had such a tough run in the office- people don't respect or trust him He(Chavez) has lost the respect of many who have heard his incoherent babblings and has not mastered even the minute basics of diplomacy, let alone gotten a grip on professionalism and maturity. I have no doubt that many Mexicans do already support our enemies, their hatred of Israelis and kinship for those in Palestine is enough to assure me of that.
I am not spreading hate toward people, simply asking the laws be enforced, and I am not going to be intimidated into silence
by a weak scare tactic.
